Lucas: "I am going to marry you someday Daddy."
Eric: "But, I am a boy; you will marry a girl someday."
Lucas: "Okay, I will marry Alex."
Eric: "She is your sister so you can't marry her. Someday you will find some other girl that is nice that you will want to marry."
Lucas: "Yes, and when I get married I will move into my own house..... I don't want to get married!"
and then Eric's response was perfect
"someday you will want to. But right now you are perfect just how you are and here with us."
Yes, it is perfect right now and will change all too soon.

ReplyDeleteWe have lots of conversations about marriage too. The other day my oldest told me that one day she would marry a daddy and live in different house, but that she would visit me.
