One of Alex's favorite expressions is "I'm getting bored", that and "aww heck". It is amazing how quickly she can get bored.
Last week she went with her preschool class to a gymnastics/tumbling place. They go once and a month and she loves it. One of her teacher's drives her there and then I pick her up from it, it is in the neighboring town but ends up being about a 15 minute drive.
The following conversation occurred on the drive home.
Alex: "I'm getting bored this is taking too long"
Me: "Your class isn't in our city so it takes a little extra time to drive to, but it only takes 15 minutes"
Alex: "No- my class is in California"
Me: "Yes, you are right it is in California. It is in X California and we live in Y California."
Alex (said in a total know it all voice): "There is only California in the whole wide world"
Me: "That's not true. Where were you born?"
Alex: --silence--- "Okay only California and Arizona in the whole wide world"
Me: "What about where MiMi and Papi live?"
Alex: "Okay only California, Arizona, and Utah in the whole wide world"
Me: "What about where Grandma and Grandpa live?"
Alex: "Okay only California, Arizona, Utah and Illinois in the whole wide world and that is it!" she declared with a look of defiance on her face.
So well, if you live anywhere other than California, Arizona, Utah or Illinois-sorry I guess you don't live in this world. Or so says my 4-year-old.
LOL! Buddy only talks about Michigan too. And we don't have much family that lives anywhere else. So no one else exists. LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL! Its funny how kids see the world. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL!! That's funny!!
ReplyDeletetry explaining living in a differnt country and then explaining states... It took my kids a long time to realizes states are not differnt countries.
ReplyDeleteMy son is fascinated with the idea that there are multiple states within our country. He only really knows about NM (where we live) and CA (where my family lives) - if you throw more than those two in there, he gets all confused. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love kid logic. Hahahaha.
ReplyDeletePhew! Glad I made it, that was a close one. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my ... I'm out - this is a sad day for me!
ReplyDeleteWay too cute for words!
Perfect! My kids think that there is just a vast expanse between here and their Grandparents' house in Florida :) I love the visual inclusion that you made!!!
ReplyDeletePhew! I made the cut! I wouldn't want to be an alien!
ReplyDeleteHaha! That really is hilarious. I wonder where cousin Kate lives. . . not in this world, I guess. :)
ReplyDeleteok the graphic? The graphic puts this at over the top funny!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was too funny! I get the feeling she was getting kind of annoyed at having to modify her statements. LOL
ReplyDeleteGlad to know I still live in "the world"!
ReplyDeleteHey, THIS MiMi lives in Oregon! We exist! lol!
ReplyDeleteSo funny. however as a resident of New Jersey, I'm sorry to hear that we don't exist any more.
ReplyDeletephew glad i live in California. lol
ReplyDeleteHooray! I'm in the club:) brennans new thing when he doesn't want to do something is say, "I'm giving up." even when it doesn't make sense. No idea where he got it from. I'm sure it was on tv!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...I miss that little girl!
ReplyDeleteDoes it count if we've lived in every one of those states for a while at one time or another?
ReplyDeleteShe's probably right about Texas, though.
We always say people need a passport to come down here...
That is too funny!! I suppose this means I don't exist...which might, actually, be okay with me. LOL
