Glad Your Gassy

I browsed through the grocery ad- corn on the cob was on sale- I knew what I wanted for dinner this weekend. I stopped at the store and picked up some corn and some buns to go with the hot dogs we already had; some fresh fruit and rice would finish this meal perfectly. Saturday rolled around and it was time for our meal. I got out the hotdogs, the buns, the condiments and began shucking the corn. As I shucked the corn I suddenly knew what would make the meal perfect-chili. Mmm a chili cheese dog sounded delicious and perfect. I finished the corn then headed to cupboard. I searched through the cans....no chili. Oh no. I searched the pantry...no chili. I suddenly felt like a mad woman searching the cupboards for chili.(*and no- I am not pregnant- I just had it in my mind that I wanted chili)

Finally, I came to terms with the fact that I would not be having a chili cheese dog.

During dinner I was still mourning the fact that my dog was chili-less.
"It's fine, it's still a great meal" Eric assured me.
"I know." I muttered, still not fully convinced.

An audible fart was then heard at the table.

"Hmm, maybe it's good we didn't have chili." I said with a giggle.
"Why is it good we didn't have chili?" Lucas asked
"Because chili sometimes makes you gassy and dad is already gassy." I replied
"Thanks, Em" Eric muttered.

Alex then added her two cents- "I'm glad your gassy Dad. High five for being gassy!"

Always good to have a cheerleader in the family.

  12. Sounds like conversations at our house when my kids were little.

Oh wait a minute. They're adults now and they still behave that way.
Sorry to burst your bubble with you thinking they'll grow out of it.
    They won't.
