Proud Mommy Moments: A Name

It's Thursday- time for Proud Mommy Moments! If you are new here, you can always read about PMM here. As always, please grab the button and link up your post, not just your blog, below. And definitely visit my co-host Kmama.

As you know, this week I have been recapping my trip to Utah. Before the trip my MIL contacted us about something she wanted to do with the kids. She wanted to have a special evening where she read in the scriptures about all of the different names the Savior has and why he has these names and what they mean about Him. And then she was going to present the kids with medallions with their names that represent who they are; she asked us for suggestions for the names.

My kids were Lucas The Golden Hearted, Alex the Bold, and Ryder the Courageous.

If you know my children, well these names were perfect.

Lucas has been my child who at times has left me scratching my head, pulling my hair and ready to scream all at the same time. But when you get past all his ups and downs and problems, I have always said he is truly good at heart- he has a golden heart- as we will tell him.

And the day we came home from Utah his golden heart shinned. He didn't make a big scene when we left, but on the way home he said this was the worst day ever and that he was going to miss everyone.

And then as soon as we got home, he immediately went and got some paper and wrote a letter to MiMi and Poppie letting them know he loved them and had a good time.

I was very proud.

Lucas the Golden Hearted- may you ever remain so.
What is your PMM this week?

  4. It's been a long summer and an equally bad week, so the only proud moment I have right now is knowing that I didn't kill any of them. yet

  5. That is super sweet! That photo is adorable! Love reading all of your mommy moments!

Quick question: what size shoe/flip flop does Alex wear? I won a contest package and the cutest pair of kids flip flops are in there - they look like the ones I'll link on the bottom (but are brown and pink)!

  14. We received the letter yesterday. His handwriting is so great! I posted it on the front of our refrigerator and I'm sure that even when he is a grown man, it will be among our most cherished treasures.
