Today I am linking up with an awesome newish blog R We there Yet Mom? This blog highlights great places to travel and visit all around the country. On Friday's she has started a meme called Friday Day Dreaming where you can share a favorite vacation picture.
And well, I still have a bit of rebel in me and I love pictures- so I am sharing three. These pictures were from our trip to Chicago over two years ago now! I can't believe how fast time goes. I grew up south of Chicago and have seen so many things there- but The Bean was something that was new since the last time I had been to the city. It is a photographer's dream- so many fun reflections.
Oh and just for fun- anyone ever seen Adventures in Babysitting? Yep-this is the building. I took this picture on the same trip to Chicago.
So today I am dreaming about exploring the big city that it so much like home for me- yet there is always something new to see.
What big city is your favorite?
I Love Chicago!!! And the Bean is such a fun place to take pictures at!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in on the Friday Fun!!!!!
Can't wait to hear what your news is???
~Becca
I didn't know they filmed that adventures in babysitting in chicago! I've been there a couple times and never noticed that building. Love that you took a picture. Great pics as always
ReplyDeleteChicago is my favorite big city and always will be. I love the bean!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited because I'll get to go back for a quick visit in the next month or so. It's been almost a year since I've been there. I need a fix!
I've yet to see the bean! :)
ReplyDeleteHaven't been to Chicago in years, but I'm hoping to take Grace next spring/summer to go to the American Girl store and the Shedd. LOVE Chicago - no city compares.
I was living in Chicago when the bean debuted. Slightly controversial at the time if I remember, but loads of fun. Some great concerts in Millenium Park. Might need to plan a trip back for a visit now that the little guy is here. He was love it!
ReplyDeleteAh my city. I see these things daily, since I work downtown. Go Bears!!!
ReplyDeleteCOOL!!! I'd love to go there someday! My favorite big city?? St. Petersburg, Russia. Swoon!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Chicago, it looks like so much Great pics!
ReplyDeleteWe were supposed to go to Chicago before LB was born - but we never made it... housework instead. Boo.
ReplyDeleteI love you photos!
The last one is gorgeous!
I always wanted to go to Chicago....but now that Oprah is gone. Not so much. :(
ReplyDeleteWow I have never seen that bean - very interesting and pretty shots. I need to get back to Chicago and see the new Sears tower glass box that hangs out over the street too!
ReplyDeleteI guess New York is still my favorite big town because you can get nearly anything you want and don't need a car to get around for the day to day. W.C.C.
Wow, what a cool Bean! I've never 'bean' there before but it looks like a great place to visit! I guess I don't get to the big cities very often. I'm more of a low key, beach kinda of a gal.
ReplyDeleteOh and congratulations on your win over at Kelley's!! How fun!!
Those are some amazing photos! Love them.
ReplyDelete"Don't #@$% with the babysitter!" LOVE that movie.
ReplyDeleteOnly been to Chicago once, and it was not by choice. We were stranded by a freak snow storm. Not much time for touring, just scrambling to keep warm and finding a place to stay.
San Francisco. I loved going to pier 39 and Ghiradeli Square. Lots of neat stuff and photo ops. Plus Golden Gate park. Really cool.
Um. I think that bean would give me vertigo. Cool but weird! :)
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are awesome. I LOVE the tulips...so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteWe went to Chigaco a few years back and stayed in the downtown area! I wish we had more time there!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've been slack in my comments here recently, a whirlwind of a week and all of a sudden I'm several weeks out of the loop on getting posted! Have a great weekend!
Can't wait to hear about your big things next week! Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the bean, and Chicago too! I've only been a few times, but I just love the feel of that city. If I could go anywhere, right now, though???
ReplyDeleteHmm....I'd have to say somewhere in Mexico, with sandy beaches, a resort with a pool on the days I don't want sand in my bottoms, and the sun shining bright every minute of daylight. Of course, my kids will be tucked safely back here in the States. I dream of a QUIET PLACE!
I've only been to Chicago once--it was for a bachelorette party and we had a blast. I do wish we'd explored more of the city but we spent the entire day shopping!
ReplyDeleteChicago looks like a wonderful place to visit! I'll add it to my list!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is NYC at the moment, but it's mostly because I live so close and am able to get there often! That and the view is fantastic!
PS. The shots you captured are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI've only ever been in the Chicago airport a couple of times, never in the city. I love that pic! Is that a bike helmet?
ReplyDeleteSandy
Gorgeous photos! I love the tulips with the city in the background, so pretty!!! And wow those mirrors are really neat! My favorite place I think has been Hawaii, its beautiful and the warmth just feels like heaven! The people are very cool and always relaxed too.
ReplyDeleteI loved Adventures in Babysitting! Also, I've seen that bean in movies and wondered where it was located. Now I know!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy most big cities...I love hustle and bustle.
ReplyDeleteThat huge shiney thing makes me want to touch it all over and leave fingerprints.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures - that big bean is cool!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite big city (do I have to pick one?) is San Francisco - because I grew up in the Bay Area and I know SF so well and it is always cool. But also New York City -it's a non stop fascinating party there!!
Anyone who travels I envy. The biggest city I have ever been to is LA, but that was just to go to the Temple while I was on my mission. And I don't think SLC counts as big city. But those photos are awesome. I want to travel some day. Of course, I am a country girl. I would much rather visit the quiet country parts over the big cities.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the reflections
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun meme! I may have to join some time.
ReplyDeleteWe were supposed to stop in Chicago on our trip this past summer but we didn't and now I am seeing your pictures and it really looks like fun!
I still think that bean looks like a giant bike helmet...
ReplyDeleteSandy
Chicago is so fun! My hubby is going there tomorrow. Have you eaten at Portillo's?
