And now since it is Friday- and I have a feeling I am going to need a good laugh this weekend, I leave you with a little tale about my amazing preparedness skills.
---------------------
As an experienced mom, I am always prepared. You learn you need to plan for anything and so my extra large diaper bag comes in handy. So when we left the dollar store and Ryder's shorts felt wet- I of course was prepared with wipes and a new diaper. And when I began to change him and realized it wasn't only pee that leaked and was a very corn-filled diaper (corn is weird like that you know) of course I have an extra pair of shorts in my very large diaper bag.
Let's see:
Toy train
Books
Paci wipes
Table mats
Half eaten food
Cheerios
Toy cars
No shorts.
But we drove across town and my next stop was right next door. I just had a couple of things I needed to get.
Hmm a few extra wipes- sure it's a wet spot, but he'll be sitting on that no one will notice.
In and out and success.
Awesome! What the heck, let's make one more stop on our way home.
Glad I am one of those amazingly prepared moms.
Ah- no one really cares like we think they do - I have taken Ian around in just a diaper b/c of the exact same reason - I am out and I am getting my errands DONE regardless of how he looks!

ReplyDeleteLOL! I have been unprepared on more than one occasion. I hate when that happens, but you rolled with the punches just fine!
ReplyDeleteWhat...I won?! YAY I'm super excited! I'm always forgetting a spoon or his sippy cup...or an extra pair of clothes. MOM BRAIN-it is real and it has no cure :)
ReplyDeleteI say, as long as they are happy then keep shopping!
ReplyDeleteWet spot? What wet spot? Yep, by kid three you are a totally different kind of mom. And let's see...I know a certain new mom who NEVER will do that....ever.... BHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteI can not even tell you how many times my children have had to go in just a diaper because I forget to carry extra clothing with me.
ReplyDeleteI bet no one even noticed his wet shorts! :)
I've ended up places with a naked kid before so you're doing great!!
ReplyDeleteI have an amazingly large diaper bag for just this reason. So imagine my dismay when I was surprised by poop at a fancy restaurant (don't ask why we were at a fancy restaurant with our 2 year old, we were on vacation and it's a long story) and couldn't find an extra dress in the diaper bag. Thank goodness we had an extra change of clothes for her in the car!
ReplyDeletebc we have been having abnormally hot weather this month (90 today, which was record setting for this day) we have been doing a lot of no shoes, no SHORTS, no problem:)
ReplyDeleteAgh! Corn poop is so icky! The first time I changed one of those, I instant messaged Jerk Face and told him what my new 'favorite diaper' was! :) (I'm a little sick like that... I just like to imagine him cringing)
ReplyDeleteLol!! You rock, Emmy!! Way to be prepared :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always that one thing we don't have! But like you said it didn't matter we make do. Way to go! You are an amazingly prepared mom!
ReplyDeleteI am always forgetting something and of course it's always the exact thing that I'd need in an emergency! #MomBrain
ReplyDeletenothing matters more then a happy baby when you're running errands
ReplyDeleteI think we've all been in that position at one time or another. No harm, no foul.
ReplyDeleteAnd darn it, I REALLY wanted to win that scrapbook stuff!
I once forgot to put a diaper on my daughter before we left the house.
ReplyDeleteIt happens to the best of us (and the worst of us!)! hehe.
ReplyDeleteI always forget something. After 5 kids, you would think I would have the diaper bag down. But nope, I don't.
ReplyDeleteI need to be better prepared. I never have an extra set of clothes, and sometimes I don't even have a diaper.
ReplyDeleteOkay...I couldn't help chuckling just a bit...to all you moms out there...you rock!
ReplyDeleteI would have been so impressed if you had an extra pair of shorts! As a mom, I've done things I would have never imagined before having kids, and I'm good with that. :)
ReplyDeleteSome days we have to laugh, don't we? That's a great story. Remind me to tell you about the corn video sometime. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I find that I'm prepared with all the stuff I need on days I don't need them. The day I forget to bring an extra diaper is the day I would seriously need it. Life's like that. :) Love what you did to overcome a hurdle ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL It's amazing what we can do when we have to :)
ReplyDeleteI'm terrible at being prepared... except our van is always a mess and I can usually find whatever we need in there. Though not on purpose.
