Proud Mommy Moments: Daddy is Best

It's Thursday! Time for Proud Mommy Moments. This is a weekly- every Thursday- meme hosted by Kmama of the Daily Dribbles and myself. This is your chance to brag about your kids and tell us those awesome things they have done or tell us the times that make you oh so "proud"- but hey at least it gives us all a good laugh.

Please, please grab the button for your post to help spread the word about this fun meme. Also, please remember to link up to your specific post and not your blog in general. And as always, remember that PMM are not just for moms!

Saturday evening I knew I was not going to be home. I had a service activity, dinner and then Relief Society broadcast to attend at my church. Anytime I have a dinner to go to- I do not make dinner. I will stop and get frozen pizzas, but hey, if I am not going to be able to eat it, I am not going to take the time to make it.

So, Saturday afternoon I needed to run to the store. Eric volunteered to go for me and take Lucas and Alex with him. After I checked to see if he had a fever I happily agreed. When they returned from the store Eric told me what great shoppers they were and all of the ways they were helping.

"Wow, it sounds like you guys are better shoppers for Daddy than me." I commented aloud.
"That's because we're attracted to daddy and we like doing what he says." Alex chimed in. (Alex is also "attracted" to cake and ice-cream--she incorrectly uses that word a lot)
"Ouch" I muttered.

"When are you leaving? Aren't you leaving yet? We are going to have a lot of fun without you." Lucas added.
Double ouch.

Yes, I do love that they like their dad so much- but do they really have to state it so clearly?

What is your PMM this week?

  1. That's too funny. And that is exactly how my kids act when it's me and Mimi. I'm just so not as neat! :)

  2. Hahaha! My kids also adore time with Dad. Usually when I'm gone it's all fun time: snacks, movies, and the park! Ya, they don't miss me a bit. Maybe I need to be gone more for them to appreciate me. A week long hiatus should do the trick. :)

  4. OOOOOUCH.

A side note, I can NEVER imagine John offering to take the kids to the store with him.

  5. Ohh! I've been there before. Buddy is a daddy's boy, through and through. And because Buster is normally attached to me, whenever there is something fun to do with daddy, he drops me in a heartbeat. :-(

  7. Don't you just want to cry sometimes when they say things like that??? I too, adore that my kids love their dad.... but give me a break! I mean, I only brought forth your life could you spare a little love for me???? LOL Funny how they can obey and be perfect for daddy and yet not for mommy. Regardless, they love us :-)

  9. My son made me and my husband a card. Mine said, You're my favorite. And his said, I love you the most. Even though they say the same thing, almost, I was like, dude, that hurts.

Yes, I called my son dude. :D

  10. Look on the bright side, more daddy/kid trips to the store equal more mommy peace time, right?

I hate when kids do that, but really, what can you do? They say they like Daddy best, but when someone gets hurt, who is the first person they demand? Always Mommy. Because Mommies have a super healing power. :)

  11. Ouch! Kids say the funniest things and I really don't think they quite understand that right now! You know they miss you terribly.

  12. ooooh! That's rough!
LB can't speak so clearly, but there are times when she wants nothing to do with me and just says "Dada" over and over! *usually it's at night, when I'm trying to put her to bed... she could be saying "done done", but I like to make Jerk Face put her to bed when she does this, so I tell him that she's calling for him... maybe that's evil?

  14. Ouch! Love how that "attraction" seems to flip flip between which parent is doing something that shouldn't be interrupted, ha ha! :)

  15. Oh what a bittersweet moment! You gotta love that they want to spend time with dad, but they should miss you at the same time. Gosh darn it, when will these kids learn. :)

  16. Now that's a hilarious, sad story! It reminds me of this post from Scary Mommy (http://www.scarymommy.com/daughters/) that I've always loved!
