This weekend Lucas and Alex were playing school. Lucas was the teacher and would show Alex what to do and she would copy his work.
"Okay what is 4+10?" he would ask. It was quite cute and many memories of playing similar games as a child flashed through my head.
I had to interrupt their game so we could go pick up the babysitter. Eric was out of town and I was going running with my girls-- only two more weeks until the 5K! Yes- I paid a babysitter so I could run. That is a statement I never thought I would say.
"Alex is a good student and her card never gets turned over." Lucas told me while we drove in the car. "But we are pretending like there is one bad kid Max and he always gets in trouble. He even kicked a kid in the private parts."
"Hey, you don't need to pretend that." I replied.
We made it to the babysitter's house. The kids were both very excited and were soon both talking the babysitter's ear off as we drove back home.
"Do you want to play school with us?" Lucas asked. "I am the teacher and Alex is the student. I am teaching her math and writing. She is a good student and doesn't get in trouble."
"But there are some bad students" Alex added.
"Yes including one boy Max," Lucas jumped in. "He is often mean and he kicked one boy in the p****!"
Yes- he did just say the correct name to the the 13-year-old girl babysitter.
Yea- wasn't so proud at the moment.
What is your PMM this week?
Haha!! Lucas cracks me up. I love how instead of not saying it at all, he just decided to use the proper word. So funny!
ReplyDeleteHA! That's funny. I would have been embarrassed too.
ReplyDeleteThat Max seems like a mean kid! :)
ReplyDeleteMy kids like to make up songs using that word. You'd be surprised the words that rhyme with it!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Poor babysitter! Traumatized for life! ;)
ReplyDeleteAwkward! :) It's moments like that when you wish your kids had a zipper on their mouths! :)
ReplyDeleteI wonder who was more red, you or the babysitter. haha. I remember Kristin telling the missionaries I was pregnant with Ryan...we had just found out...it wasn't enough to tell them that I was pregnant mind you. She also had to tell them how I had peed on the stick. Good times.
ReplyDeleteAwkward!!! I hope that uncomfortable moment passed quickly!
ReplyDeleteOMG! That is too funny! At least he used the correct term for that body part!
ReplyDeleteThat made me crack up - Thanks for the laugh - You gotta love kids!!!
ReplyDeleteHope she babysits for you again..LOL. P.S: You should hear the things I do to be able to work out..
ReplyDeleteOf course he said it once the sitter was in the car. Too funny. At least he used the right now instead of a derogatory name for it!
ReplyDeleteI love that they are fixated on this boy's actions. Did they have some encounter with a crotch kicker? Kids are hilarious.
Hey, you should be proud - he's clearly acing anatomy!
ReplyDeleteJDaniel loves to use the right words for things too. How wonderful that they were playing school.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Oh my gosh that is too funny.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking today that I need to get a babysitter so I don't have to run at 5 am anymore! So no, I don't think you're crazy for paying a babysitter while you run.
I'm so immature...I actually get uncomfortable using the correct term.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh from the mouth of babes.
ReplyDeletehehehehehe
LOL! That is too funny! I'm sure she had no idea what to say to that!
ReplyDeleteOk, that is just funny! At least the correct term was being used. My brother called his penis his pinky for the longest time. I would get so confused!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...maybe you shouldn't have corrected him when he said "privates." He probably thought he was doing you a favor!
ReplyDeleteSandy
Oh my! That is too funny!
ReplyDeleteLOL What did she say back?
ReplyDeleteIt is one of those moments where you feel proud and ashamed at the same time!! That just sums up being a mom, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteBwhahahahahahaha. I can only imagine what was going through the babysitter's head.
ReplyDeleteKids. Sigh. They really come up with incriminating things, don't they? Seriously.
ReplyDeletethat's good stuff! my nephew uses the actual name and I turn red every time! awkward!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA! Oh my goodness, that is so funny!!! I love that...wowza! I am sorry, I've been MIA for a bit but I LOOOOOOOOVE catching up on your blog! Your posts are the best!
