This week's theme is Thankful week two.
This week I am thankful for the simplicity of life at this stage.
By this I mean the fact that on Saturday night, when dinner was finished early, it was cold and dark and everyone was a bit restless....
A simple trip to Krispy Kreme's made everyone so happy.
The kids watched the donuts being made while we waited in line (and some more after we ate our donuts)
And of course we got to eat some. Warm, glazed donuts. We made short work of a dozen
And everyone was happy. It won't always be this simple. But for now while it is, I am going to enjoy it.
What simple things are you thankful for?
Isn't it amazing how something so simple can brighten up your child's day? We did donuts Saturday morning. :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that you need to enjoy and relish those small, simple things that makes everyone happy.
ReplyDeleteLast night, I spent some time in my bed, snuggling with my boys while watching TV. It was so nice.
I beg to differ. It IS still this simple. A dozen Krispy Kremes fixes me every time! :o)

ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than warm doughnuts. Before I was a stay at home mom, I was a doughnut maker at one of our grocery stores. Lots of pounds gained doing that job :)
ReplyDelete:) I haven't had a doughnut in ..almost forever! ..and now I want one! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about simple things can make a child's day! :)
I drive over 80 miles to go to Krispy Kreme sometimes.
ReplyDeleteSomebody looks totally happy to eat that donut! They are the BEST!
ReplyDeleteI have a kid who won't eat donuts. Boo.
ReplyDeleteHe is robbing me of the simplicity. ROBBING ME. OK, maybe I'm just bitter about being denied donuts.
I'm thankful for small things too. And I can't believe I have never eaten a Krispie Kreme donut!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Sarah Kate...I think those Krispy Kremes would fix someone at any age! Hopefully you can keep a store handy!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm craving donuts too! Yummy!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you could watch them make donuts. My kids would love that. Nothing better than a little kid entertainment so you can enjoy your donut too!
Thanks for playin' along today!
I love glazed donuts but have never thought of them for dessert, what a great idea! I love simple too!
ReplyDeleteI am not crying over the fact you have Krispy Kreme...I am not, no, no...Fine. I am. We have none left here, and you are so right about those little glazed rings of happiness.

ReplyDeleteLove Krispie Kremes! We try to get down there right after the kids get their grades for the term. They always get 6 free donuts EACH and then I buy a dozen for the rest of us to share. So fun!
