The Post Where I Tell My Husband's Secret

Eric and I are going on a date tonight. We are going to go for some good sushi and then going to see Breaking Dawn- we even got our tickets last week. Yes, my husband is going with me on opening night to see Breaking Dawn. And no, I am not dragging him along- in fact he is just as excited as I am.
A few years back I was somehow living in a rock and had never heard of Twilight. After the first movie came out I started to finally hear some chatter about it and after it had been on video for a while we rented it. I enjoyed it but really wasn't blown away and wondered what all of the fuss was about.

Curiosity got the better of me and I checked out the book from the library, and well let's just say I was soon making my way to the store buying the whole set. I was hooked. My husband humored me and went with me to New Moon on opening night. All he knew of the story was what he had seen in Twilight and a few tidbits I had thrown his way.

He had fun laughing at all of the screaming girls but did actually enjoy the movie. I of course kept telling him how much better the books are.

When Eclipse was coming out- the plan was once again to go on opening night, just this time I was going to have a baby the next day. Yep, I scheduled Ryder's c-section for the day after Eclipse opened so we could have one last night out before his birth. But he came 8 weeks early so that changed that plan. We did see it a couple of months after his birth though.

Then this summer Eric had to help out on a different job- which resulted in his usual 50 minute commute turning into a 2 1/2 hour commute- each way. He survived it by listening to audio books. He first listened to The Hunger Games and a few other books. Then he decided he would listen to the Twilight Series. He said he barely made it through Twilight- but sometime during New Moon he started to like it-- a lot.

So yes, my husband likes Twilight.

We have both been excitedly anticipating Breaking Dawn and watched the first three movies this last week in preparation.

Tonight we will both be sitting in the theater with probably a lot of teenage girls and one of us might even be screaming a bit--though no, I won't tell you which one of us it is.

Are you going to see Breaking Dawn?

  3. No way!!!! Your husband sounds like fun!!! :o) To be fair, my husband watches Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice with me every Thursday night, so I can't really complain. ;o)

I am semi into the Twilight thing. I've seen the first two movies and loved them, but haven't seen any since or read the books. I keep telling myself I will when I have time, but I'm not sure that'll ever happen. ;o)
