Present
I want to be present in life, I want to be present and focused in the moment. I don't want to waste my days away doing three things at once. But I want to be really present when my kids say, mom look at this. I want to be present when they say, will you play with me?
So this year, I am going to be present.
Do you have a word?
Please don't forget about Ten Things to Smile About tomorrow! I started this meme after a very rough month and I needed to find something good, something worth smiling about. You can simply write a list or include pictures- which I always do of course; but it would make me smile if you linked up.
What a great resolution! I agree hat being present and feeling the moments is one of the most important things in life
ReplyDeleteThat is a great word for the year.
ReplyDeleteGreat word AND goal!
ReplyDeleteI think that's perfect, and it's something you'll always be grateful that you focused on.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great word! B/c too many times we get caught up in other things with our minds just going a million miles a minute. Instead, we should enjoy it and be "present." Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteAwesome word and great sentiment. It goes SO fast!!
ReplyDeletei am so not in the present today!!! all i'm thinking about is worrying about what happens in 9 weeks. sigh.
ReplyDeleteGreat word! Great goal. Harder than it sounds, but oh so important! :)
ReplyDeleteHow do we link up something to smile about?
AWESOME word!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great word. I need to jump on board with this. I have forgotten. Maybe my word is FORGET! Don't roll your eyes. :P
ReplyDeleteThat's a word I can get behind. Everyone loves presents.
ReplyDelete:-)
My word is happy.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have sadness in my life, I have so much happy.
One little word with so much meaning!
ReplyDeleteThat's really great Em! I don't really have a word for this year, thoughts and goals but none can really be summed up so nicely like that!
ReplyDeleteThat's a really good one! I know most moms are ultimate multitaskers. Being present for each task is going to be difficult! But if it were easy, it wouldn't be worth being a "resolution".
ReplyDeleteLove your word! I think it is a great one!
ReplyDeleteshoot-- I had a word, but I've already forgotten it! How sad is that!? OKay!! Thank you for my reminder!! I'm going to get my 10 things going NOW!!
ReplyDeletethat's a good word. I should have a phrase, No Fear :)
ReplyDeleteI like your word. It's a good one. Mine was SKINNY. Yep, it's shallow I know but at the time that I left a comment that day, that was my goal for this year. I could have said HEALTHY but SKINNY came out first!
ReplyDeleteI'm linking up tomorrow!!!
What a great word! So often we are "there" but not really present! I need to recognize this more also. I should totally do this word thing...
ReplyDeletePerfect word!
ReplyDeleteThat means more than anything!
That is an excellent choice … and one that I think all moms with small children should use! I know I struggle with it.
ReplyDeleteI love that you took your time finding your word so you could be present when you commited:-o
ReplyDeleteIt truly is a good one! We should all be present in our lives but I can see how many times we are not!!
Great goal!
That's a great word - and something very important (and often not easy) to practice! I don't have a word specifically, but I'm focusing on being vulnerable - yikes!
ReplyDeleteFabulous.
ReplyDeleteI don't have one word that I've been working on specifically, but I have been working on myself, and it feels good.
Thanks for hosting such a fun party!!! XO, Aimee
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful word! What a wonderful goal to have for the year. You inspire me, Emily. Thank you for that! I need to work on this, too.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great word for the year! A great resolution.
ReplyDeleteI read this post a few days ago but couldn't comment because I had a busy 20 month old just dying to get on the computer:) I love the word you've chosen. Mine could be the same although I've sort of chosen consistency. I made a list of things I want to do consistently - read to the kids at least four nights a week, play with them when they ask at least once a day etc.
ReplyDeleteMy word is discipline. I really need to blog about this.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fabulous word! I need to do this too.
ReplyDeleteI think my word this year is simplify.
:)
