"Is Ryder in my room" Lucas will holler from downstairs if he hears a door open.
"No, it is just me putting away some clothes." I reply.
"Okay, good. Keep him out of my room."
Lucas' room is full of Lego's, hundreds and hundreds of Legos- so it is a Ryder free zone.
Alex is a little more generous and will allow Ryder in her room. He loves her Go-go dog, though I think it kind of scares him too. And I will often find him playing with her doll house. But unfortunately he has always found something.
Alex's tea set.
A cute porcelain tea set with matching plates and cups. She hides it way under her bed- but Ryder has long ago discovered this, shimming under to retrieve the box they are stored in.
One time while I was
"Alex!" I hollered, "Ryder has your tea set."
Lucas of course hurried to Alex's room to aid in the rescue, ripping the box out of Ryder's hands, causing a plate and cup to shatter. Of course tears and yelling ensued. I became available and hurried in to defuse the situation. Daddy with some super glue came to the rescue.
But several days latter I hear the all to familiar tink tink- this time I remained quiet and rescued the set myself resulting in do damage.
Ryder has learned there are treasures under beds. Which might be what he was thinking when he went under mine, and ended up like this.
Stuck.
I was putting away laundry only to hear him crying and discover him halfway under unsure of how to get out.
With a little coaxing and guidance he was soon out, treasure-less.
Sorry kid, only blankets and dust bunnies under my bed.
Poor guy. All he wanted was to find a treasure. Glad he made it out unharmed
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, we have a whole closet dedicated to Lego's.....
ReplyDeleteAwww poor guy.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, no treasures under my bed but the dust bunnies.
It funny and sad at the same time! Poor Ryder but I see you found a treasure under your bed so all was not lost!
ReplyDeleteAwww poor guy! So much work to look for treasure and finding none!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! Oh my goodness. I love that you took a picture. Future teasing sessions when he's a teen are sure to follow!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing you only have blankets and dust bunnies under there. My husband keeps a knife and a baseball bat under ours. That will definitely change when we have kids!
Is it a lesson learned? hahaha. Only time will tell.
ReplyDeleteThat picture is so sad, but a little funny, too!!! Poor little guy!!! Hopefully he learned the good stuff is only under Alex's bed!
ReplyDeleteIt's sad...but it makes me giggle too.
ReplyDeleteI love that you were stuck on the toilet. Seems like that's when most crises take place around here too!
LOL! I wonder if that will be the last of his shimmying adventures?
ReplyDeletePoor kid - but also, love that you took time to take a picture before rescuing him! I'm totally that kind of mom!
ReplyDeleteMy oldest FREAKS OUT if anyone goes in his room. It's kinda funny to mess with him. See - mother of the year here.
Aw, poor little guy coming out with now treasure! ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd you took a picture - he he! Love it!
Oh no! Stuck baby!
ReplyDeleteI want to play with the tea set!
That is too funny! Lesson learned by him.
ReplyDeleteEmma needs a tea set. I'll put that on the list!
I think it's funny that he got stuck; maybe that's life's natural way of telling him to stop doing it. LOL
ReplyDeleteso cute.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, poor little guy! That's too funny. I guess you could hide the tea set up high, but him climbing sounds more dangerous than getting stuck under the bed!
ReplyDeletePoor guy! This will make a funny story for him later though! He is lucky he didn't try under my bed!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! Poor little monkey.
ReplyDeleteAw, poor little pumpkin! Just dust bunnies under my bed too. And if I went exploring, I'd also end up stuck!
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for him but this was very amusing!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, sad little guy and no treasure to show for it! I'm impressed with his determination. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing because I was also the type of mom who went and grabbed the camera even with my kid in distress - Ha Ha - Makes for great pictures!!
ReplyDeletePoor little guy - I bet he won't go under there again.
Aww! That's so funny! My kids have never gone under beds.
ReplyDeleteAw! Poor little guy but hopefully he learned his lesson. ;)
ReplyDeleteEdy gets stuck under the table all the time too, but she finds treasures, aka dried up grapes, old Cheerios...
ReplyDeletelol!
Wonder if that'll keep him from trying it again?
