I love having the "not proud" moments as they really make for good blog material and it helps to laugh in life- but something truly good happened this last week that I just have to share-
"Mom, I didn't get to eat all of my lunch today." Lucas told me when he arrived home from school.
"Why not?" I questioned.
"Because "A" pushed his lunchbox into mine and my food fell on the floor."
My heart broke a little.
A week later.
""A" was being mean again today."
"Oh no, I am sorry."
"Yes, I don't know why he is mean. I try and be nice to him."
Me: "Well I am glad you are still being kind and doing the right thing."
Lucas: "Yes, I follow the golden rule. "A" doesn't follow it; his mom told him if someone is mean to you to be mean back to him. His mom is 36, how does she not know the golden rule?"
What a good boy!! =)
ReplyDeleteAwww! I hope "A" becomes nice soon. Maybe someone else will teach him about the Golden Rule. Good for your little guy for being so nice. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this. It's one of the things I worry about all the time - bullying at school. Preparing our kids for the world doesn't mean other parents do the same. What a good and sweet boy you are raising.
ReplyDeleteMy heart breaks, but for A. How sad. It sounds like you are definitely raising your boy up right! You should be super proud.
ReplyDeleteOh he has such a sweet heart. :) And he's really quite logical!
ReplyDeleteSuch a good kid! You know the apple doesn't fall far from the tree..
ReplyDeleteSandy
It's hard to hear about your kids being treated that way by others at school, but it's gotta make you feel good to know that he's not returning the bad behavior. Hopefully 'A' will start leaving him alone!!
ReplyDeleteAw...nice boy you have. A is a jerk. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest thing! And really how does his mom not know the Golden Rule at 36!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good-hearted son you have! So sweet.
ReplyDeleteI would be very proud if I were you too. He is learning great lessons by following the golden rule. Good job for teaching him it!
ReplyDeleteThat is the sweetest thing I've heard. What a kid!
ReplyDeleteBless his heart!! It's sad that some kids don't get to learn that kind of kindness at home.
ReplyDeletewhat an awesome kid you have there
ReplyDeleteLucas has been taught well. And he truly has a heart of gold! Well done.
ReplyDeleteLucas sounds like a well mannered boy :) HE is adorable too
ReplyDeleteYou're doing right by your kids. A's mom however … well, she might need a little guidance. You should be proud of this moment.
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet! I love how similar he is to Henry, both so pure hearted.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great kid! You definitely are teaching him the right values!
ReplyDeleteWhat a smart cookie you've got there. Seriously, how do parents not know how to set a good example. Shame on that mom!
ReplyDeleteGreat parenting Emmy, you are what the majority should be for sure!
Awww...."A" sounds like an ass. I hate that. He'll be a bully someday I'm assuming.
ReplyDeleteLucas is a good kid. I love that picture!
Oh my goodness, he is so cute!!! What a sweetheart he is!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet boy you have! Now as for this other kid- I'd sure like to give him a taste of his own medicine. What a little punk.
ReplyDeleteOh what a sweetie:)
ReplyDeleteWHy do kids have to be mean!
ReplyDeleteSeriously? Some people should not be allowed to breed.
ReplyDeleteOh! That just makes me so sad!
ReplyDeleteItty Bit is dealing with a kid who says unkind things. It is so hard when they are innocent and assume the best and receive icky.
What a clever boy- here's hoping 'A' sorts himself out soon- sounds like your son could be a fantastic positive influence on the kid!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie. And such a handsome young man!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad he's still trying to be nice and I hope A will see that and show some kindness in return.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a proud mommy moment. You must be doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteOh, my heart... *melting* You should be VERY proud of this moment... you have taught sweet Lucas very well. Also, I absolutely adore that name. Always been one of my favorites :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much for your kind words on my post over at Shell's place. It meant so much!
Hope you are enjoying the weekend.
People like A's mom are what's wrong with society!! Yeah for your son setting a good example!!
ReplyDeleteHe is such a sweetie!!! I just happen to be 36 and am very grateful I know the golden rule--though I'm certain my 7-yr-old forgot it today. :)
ReplyDeleteAlex is such a sweet little guy!! Doesn't it make you feel so good when they remember their manners?
