Have you seen it?

Happy Monday everyone!

Or wait can those two words ever go together?

Today, is the last day of our spring break. Most of the break was spent with family in town and definitely made it fly by. I would tell you about all of the fun we had but all of the pictures are still on my camera and I can't have a vacation recap without pictures!

Instead I am going to to say-- first TOMORROW is Ten Things to Smile about this month. There are still a few days left in the month, so I will keep the linky open for a week and half in case you want to link up next week, but definitely link up. If you don't know what this monthly meme is, you can click right here to read more about it-- or the tab up top.

Friday night we left three barely healthy kids with the babysitter and went and saw Hunger Games. Luckily they love the babysitter and seem to get tons more energy and seem just fine when she shows up. Even Ryder didn't cry for the first time when we left- which was wonderful but kind of sad too.

So Hunger Games-- loved it! I really want to go back and read the books again now as it has been a while since I read them. The next movie won't be coming out until next November- yes November of 2013, so I will have plenty of time to read them all before it comes out. For those of you who have read it-- why do some people hate the third book? I personally had nothing against it so am just curious why so many seem to hate the third book.

And because every post is better with a picture; I leave you with a shot of my new laundry room decor- I will tell you more about it soon!

  1. I posted about Hunger Games today too. Not as big a fan as you were, but it was okay. Usually I'm not so opinionated about things as I am about this movie. Glad you liked it.

  4. Me and my dad went and seen Hunger Games on Saturday. We both loved it. No one I know in real life wanted to go see it with me, so dad volunteered. He said it was a lot better than what he was thinking.

I loved the third book. The whole series was great.

Loving your laundry room decor, very cute.

  9. I had never heard of The Hunger Games until all this hooplah. I'm thinking I need to read the books now, but I'm not a Sci Fi fan and I read that these books are Sci Fi. Is that true?

  11. My daughter and I really enjoyed the movie - I was bothered by some differences from the books, but thought it was good overall.

I loved all three books, but I will say that my husband hated the third and it ruined the entire series for him. He thought Prim's death was terrible - generally he thought a lot of the deaths were pointless and that the ending with Peeta and Katniss just seemed to be tacked on because the author had to give her audience a happy ending. I read a lot of interviews with Suzanne Collins where she basically said that bad things happen in war and people die, so she thought it was realistic to have some main characters die. I think my husband just gets mad if there's no truly happy ending to a story :)

  19. We saw The Hunger Games this weekend too. We went Friday afternoon when the kids were all still in school & most people wouldn't be out so it was perfect! It had been a while since I had read the books, but I really enjoyed it. I need to read the books again because I first read them when Mockingjay came out. My husband has not read the books but he's planning on it now. I didn't dislike any of the books. I was upset with what they did with Prim, but other than that, I liked all of them.

  23. Oh I'm so jealous that you've seen the movie! We were going to go last weekend, but Hubs got sick, and so we didn't make it out of the house. Hopefully in the next few days.

I didn't dislike the third book. I actually LOVED all of them. The third book was maybe my least favorite of all of the three, though. Mostly I was just sad to see it all come to an end.

  24. I was just left with an empty feeling at the end of the third book, but that was probably the point. I didn't like who she ended up with either, I guess. Wish things could have been different in some ways, but I know it was realistic.

I liked the movie but had a few issues with it too. I cannot imagine seeing it without reading the books though. Seems like the breezed through so much of the stuff.

Glad you got to get out to see it too! :)
