My husband played sports growing up, I did too but not as seriously as he did. He played basketball since he was young and all through high school. He was even recruited by a couple of small colleges. I always joke that if we had known each other in high school we never would have ended up together- as I was at all the basketball games too but I was playing in the pep band.
Needless to say Eric would love for our kids to do sports- especially the boys.
Lucas played soccer last year and did pretty good. He is playing again this year and the growth he is already showing is awesome; but truly I think he is more interested in building and inventing things than sports.
Alex is also playing this year- this will be her first year. We went and bought all the needed gear and Alex wanted to try on her kleets and shin guards and play right away. Eric took the kids into the backyard to do some drills. Eric was dribbling the ball trying to score and Alex was trying to steal it. She ran right along side trying to get to the ball, she then hip checked Eric, stole the ball and dribbled down and scored!
So I think Eric will get his wish- it might just come through this tough red headed athlete.

ReplyDeleteyes, I think my son would rather read and draw than do sports too! That is a fun story. no surprise though, she's seems really good at stuff like that! We should have a fun little soccer game when we are there. Ethan played one year and really liked it. Though he is the complete opposite of aggressive!

I really wish my parents would of added some sport for me, I might of had the mind to stay in better shape
