Last week I told you all about Alex hip-checking Eric and I that I had a feeling she was going to be a good soccer player.
Well I was right.
Saturday was her first practice/game. The first part was spent working one on one with the parent learning skills and then they broke them up into groups to play 4 on 4. Alex's team started with the ball kicked off and ran towards the goal. The other team- stood there an watched. They kind of missed the memo.
Alex's team continued to dominate throughout the game, luckily the other team did start moving. Alex would work her way through the bunch, end up with the ball and break away time and time again. Charging fast towards her goal. Unfortunately it was a little too fast and she would often practically run by the goal or run too much to the side making a shot at the goal nearly impossible. But she did make her teams one and only goal and had 5 other really close shots.
And not to be outdone, Lucas did great in his game. He is an awesome defender and according to him "helped stopped like 55 possible goals".
And here is a little trailer- been too long since I made one of these, enjoy.
What is your Proud Mommy moment this week?
Aww! Way to go Alex (and Lucas)!!
ReplyDeleteI love your trailer!
How cute! I played soccer for almost 20 years. Some of my best memories of childhood revolve around soccer! Have a great Thursday.
ReplyDelete"like 55 possible goals"...that kills me!
ReplyDeleteI love watching my kids play sports!
Soccer season is just around the corner for us too...can't wait!
I have a compliment for you...I'm constantly watching the RSL videos, there are a lot of promotional, fan-made videos being posted right now. When I started playing your video, my husband, who was sitting across the room from me heard the music and said, "is that a new video?" (meaning a new RLS one). It was hilarious. I told him it was a new soccer video...but with 5 year old!
AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteI love your trailer!
Good for them! And my gosh, is that goal super tiny or am I just forgetting?
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow she is really good! Go Alex!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job!! Fun to watch too. And wow, that goal is mini!
ReplyDeleteYesss!!!
ReplyDeleteOhh, your video? The most adorable thing I've seen today! That's awesome that she did such a great job. And it's even more awesome that you caught her playing in an adorable uniform on video. Love that.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Gotta love Apple movie trailer program!
ReplyDeleteThat's so great! Love the vid. My youngest is on spring break this week, so we've been having a good time pal-ing around together all week long. It's been fun and makes me miss her when she's at school. I'll be sad next week.
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting! Congrats all around.
ReplyDeleteYAY Alex!
ReplyDeleteI remember The Boy's first soccer game. He took off running and all the parents turned to me and said, "He's played before?" I had to pick my chin up off the ground before I could respond, 'No!"
Sadly, he gave it up in favor of football.. the tackle kind *shiver*
So cute! It is so fun to watch our kids do well in anything, but first soccer game is HUGE!
ReplyDeleteI am very impressed by the trailer, how did you do that?
Watching kids play soccer is sooooo much fun!! Love that you are bragging on your sweetie!
ReplyDeleteEmmy Mom Productions... lol so cute, I love the video! My daughter tried soccer when she was 3 and hated it... I think she was too young. Now she wont try it again! I wish I could get her to try it again, it is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing cuter than littles in those soccer uniforms. Adorable!!!
ReplyDeletehey good for you proud mom!! the picture is just way too cute!
ReplyDeleteGood job, Lucas and Alex! I'm glad they're having fun on the field!
ReplyDeleteYou got a professional soccer player coming your way. She's so good in co-ordination for a first game. Seems like I'm always missing out of chances to participate in linking up posts. I'm looking forward to not missing the next one.
ReplyDeleteSoccer is so fun! We played last year, but this year we are trying baseball. I'll keep you posted. Right now Sport has a huge bruise on his chest where he got hit with the ball...
ReplyDeleteSandy
They are doing to well! I need to get JDaniel into a sport!
ReplyDeleteThat movie was fabulous- way to go Alex!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute story! I love when they are accomplishing something like this and how proud they are of it!
ReplyDeleteAw, so cute! Somehow, it doesn't surprise me that she is so good at it. :)
