I pondered life's deeper questions- in regards to laundry in a post here.
I even showed you my dirty laundry a few times including here.
I did make some cute laundry room decor hoping it would help. And yes it does make me smile at least now in the laundry room.
(instructions and original post found by clicking here)
Friday was the day I was going to put the pile of clean clothes away
But instead I pulled open our crayon/ pencil junk drawer and made it from this
To this
(Most bins from $ section at Target- 2/$1!!)
Oh the satisfaction! The exhilaration of a job well done! The pride from being a hard worker!
Shoot
(yes my real pile of clothes to put away- and yes I was in my pajamas when I took this)
Do you hate laundry as much as me?
Oh and ironically enough I wrote this post on my phone while I was working on putting that pile away.
See anything but the laundry!
P.S. Tomorrow is Ten Things to Smile About! It is your chance to look back at the month of April and find ten things that made you smile-whatever they may be.
I really dislike laundry too. I end up doing 6 to 8 loads a week, but I always wait until the weekend, so then it seems like I'm doing laundry my entire weekend. Grr.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on organizing that drawer.
I am one of those weird people that don't mind laundry...I know most people loathe it. For some reason I don't...but I hate DUSTING! I'll trade ya...I'll do your laundry if you dust my house :)
ReplyDeleteI hate folding laundry. Putting it away isn't so bad once it's folded, but folding stinks. I just wish it wasn't one of those never ending tasks. You get it done and then turn around and have to do it again.
ReplyDeleteMan I don't like laundry either! And I'm so surprised how much adding one more person to the family has increased the laundry. Crazy!
ReplyDeleteWashing is no big deal. Folding is OK, but putting all the piles away . . . ugh!
ReplyDeleteI actually love laundry...especially folding...it's my favorite household chore...honest...oh, except I always procrastination actually putting the piles of folded clothes away...so I guess I don't love all of it as much as I originally thought lol
ReplyDeleteYou did an awesome job organizing that junk drawer! It was worth making the laundry wait to do that!
ReplyDeleteThe tops of my washer and dryer have a shelf across them and right now it is mounded with the likes of what I see at your house. I don't know why I did that this week. I usually mound them on a bedroom chair. I despise the folding!
ReplyDeleteLaundry is still my most unfavorite part of housework.
ReplyDeleteCute decor wouldn't make me smile.
However a laundry room would. Not just a hallway with the washer and dryer stuck in it.
In all honesty I didn't mind laundry until we recently moved and now? well I have to pack up all my laundry and walk to the community laundry room! that is the worst for me! I can't stand it! sharing a washer with more people and waiting for a washer to be emptied is frustrating... either way I don't mind it that much after it is done.
ReplyDeleteI love how you arranged the crayon drawer, I am still just unpacked but do need to rearrange some drawers already! :) Thanks for the tip.
My junk drawer is calling YOUR name. Can you come over tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteI HATE LAUNDRY. I hate putting it away. That also might have to do with the fact that our house is too small for all the fricking laundry we have.
ReplyDeleteUmm...yes. I hate laundry. And instead of switching the clothes to the dryer, I'm reading your blog. Thank you for the distraction! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a similar pile of clothing in my room too and I usually do other things just to avoid putting it all away. Besides how would I know where thing were if they were all put away instead of right there in front of me.
ReplyDeleteTwo chores I absolutely despise: Laundry and dishes! Neither ever go away!
ReplyDeleteI despise ironing and laundry-so very, very much. Neither of them ever end!
ReplyDeleteYES!!! I feel your pain!!! Doing the laundry ranks just above cleaning the toilet with my bare hands in my opinion. I normally wait as long as possible, until Cory tells me he's been wearing the same pair of boxers for three days because I haven't done the laundry in over 2 weeks. :o) I'm so glad I've found a kindred soul to abhor laundry duty with. :o)
ReplyDeleteWe're so alike. I hate folding/putting laundry away. Sometimes I just keep pulling clean clothes out of the dryer as I go!
ReplyDeleteI seriously hate laundry as well. I only do it when something is wet, otherwise every Tuesday a service picks it up and Wednesday they bring it back clean and folded, so awesome. Laundry is evil, just plain evil. I've been avoiding it since college every chance I get!
ReplyDeleteI'm fine doing laundry until I get to the "putting it away" part. Then it just sits, folded in the baskets, until everyone complains they have no clothes. Love your organized drawer! I love doing stuff like that. It is so satisfying. Much more satisfying than laundry.
ReplyDeleteThe laundry is neverending. It's something I struggle with too. I get all caught up, and don't do it for ONE day, and then it gets overwhelming again.
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! I've written a post or two about my huge dislike of laundry, even posted a pic of my huge laundry pile! You did an awesome job organizing that drawer though. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I hate not having a laundry room, that's for sure! I wish I was less obsessive about my laundry. I refuse to put any dark clothes that can fade or anything with embroidery or an iron on print (kid's T-shirts) in the dryer. So, hang them all to dry(remember no laundry room...so you can imagine) and iron it all afterward. I am completely nuts. I will not put anything in the closest that hasn't been ironed first. Anyway....this makes it difficult. LOL Can't stand myself.
ReplyDeleteLove the organized junk drawer...doesn't that feel so good??
ReplyDeleteI don't mind washing & folding but putting away almost never happens. I can have loads perfectly folded in laundry baskets for a week or more. Dang laundry!
ReplyDeleteI hate laundry. I don't mind putting it in the machine, but the putting away and folding is what makes me want to cringe.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind laundry, actually, but I HATE messy drawers (and my kitchen is full of them. Tell you what...bring your laundry to my house and I'll do it while you make my junk drawers look like that! :)
ReplyDeleteLaundry is the bane of my existence. Seriously if I never did another load in life I'd be good. I fact every time I even consider the chance of winning the lottery, the first thing on my list would be hire a laundress. Is that a word?
ReplyDeleteHahaha! You need Laundry Ladies! I just met the owner of that company and am thinking I'm going to be a REGULAR with her! lol
ReplyDeleteDid you go back and count your posts :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha! It's always great to know that I'm not the only one who gets sidetracked on the the way to the laundry room!
