Proud Mommy Moments: Toddler Humor

It's Thursday!!  It is Proud Mommy Moments (#PMM) time!  This is your weekly chance to brag about the awesome things your kids, nieces, nephews, etc did and no one will judge because we told you to you to. Or you can do the opposite and tell us about those moments your kids made you so "proud"- i.e. something totally embarrassing. Please grab the button for your post and visit my co-host Kmama.

Every Thursday!

My house is not really a quiet house.  Not only do I have three little kids- but we all enjoy life.  Lots of jokes, lots of silliness and well just sometimes pure chaos.

On Monday we decided to brave the heat and head to the park.  The kids rode their bikes and I pushed Ryder in his little push bike.  When we got to the park Ryder ran right for the little swings- after just a few pushes he was ready for something else.  He headed to the little playground where another little boy- who was 4 (as we later found out) was playing.
"Hi Baby" Ryder said to the boy.
"I'm not a baby, I am 4!" The boy declared.
"He just calls every little kid baby- so he doesn't think you are a baby that is just what he calls little kids." I explained to the boy.
"Why does he do that?" he questioned.
"Probably because everyone still calls him a baby so that is just what he is used to hearing."

He accepted this and went off and played.

Later that night at dinner as we all sat around the table; I was recounting this story to Eric.
"Why doesn't he call me baby then?" Alex questioned; as he has never once called her baby.
"He knows your name and so just calls you Alex." Eric explained.
"Ryder can you say Alex?" Alex prompted Ryder.

Ryder paused, looked at Alex with a twinkle in her eye "baby Alex" he said and then laughed and laughed.

Eric and I looked at each other shocked-- Ryder clearly understood exactly what he was doing.

And for your enjoyment- a video I took right after the fact- only 30 seconds and totally cute

What is your PMM this week?

  2. In a former life, before we had kids...the apartment manager's baby called every cat "emmit" as their cat was named "Emmit." Huge Cowboys fans. I digress.

    Cute!!! Way cute. :)
