As a parent you do your best to teach your kids. I try and teach mine to work hard, to never give up, to be kind to others around them, to serve and to help out among other things. And as parents I think we get to see their best and worst behavior. We teach them and then send them out into the world hoping for the best and at times I wish I could be a fly on the wall so I knew how they behaved when I am not around.
A couple of weeks ago we headed into church and took our seat and waited for the meeting to start. A sister (not a nun) came up and said:
"I just had to tell you, I subbed for Lucas' primary class* last week and Lucas was the most polite and considerate boy. When I came into the classroom all of the big chairs were gone and he got right up and said that I could have his chair. He is a good Christian boy."
My face was beaming throughout the rest of the meeting. Yes, this was a very proud mommy moment.
What is your Proud Mommy Moment this week?
*Primary is what we call the Sunday school classes for kids 3-11.
