Take Me Out to the Ball Game

I don't care if I never go back...
This last Saturday my kids enjoyed their first major league baseball game with the Los Angels Angels of Anaheim (yes it used to just be the Anaheim Angels which sounds a lot better I think)
We went for Eric's work party and were gifted with shirts, hats and unlimited food. My kind of ball game. The Angels did lose but our team hit two home-runs so we got to see the fireworks go off twice; much to Ryder's dismay, he's not yet a fan.
In other random news, we have survived our first week of school. Actually the first week was great- this week with homework beginning and yea- I am starting to remember why I dislike school. Plus soccer starts today. Lucas has practice on Tuesday and Thursdays and Alex on Wednesdays and Fridays- both right during the dinner hour and both of their 45 minute practices take about 15 minute to get to- so no dropping off and coming back. Um yea- we will see how we survive this one.
So yes, all of those of you who are still posting summer time fun pictures while I am fighting Lucas about homework, I am very jealous.
Oh and speaking of Lucas
see these feet-
that would be my feet and my 7-year-old son's feet! Oy-vey! This mama is going to be passed up before I know it.
Getting my random on with IA and Shawn's Talk to Us Tuesday and Stacy Uncorked's Random Tuesday (and I am behind on getting to everyone's blogs-caught up in a good book- but will be catching up this week)
I have fond memories of going to the Angels games with my family as a kid. Fun, fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun night! I am a little jealous and i don't even like baseball!
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes those are some big feet! He may have his daddy's height. Good luck keeping him clothed with how fast i bet he will grow. :)
You must have tiny feet though! And you know, I sang that song along with your words. lol
ReplyDeleteWhat size shoes does he wear? Buddy has VERY small feet, which matches his small body. I think we determined he's in a 12.5 right now.
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone had fun at the game! We took Buster to his first game when he was about Ryder's age and we ended up walking the concourse with him most of the game. He would not sit still.
What a fun time at the ball park. I haven't been to a major league game yet. Hubby did buy me tickets 4yrs ago but I was pregnant with Allison and morning sickness was killing me.
ReplyDeleteWe need to take our kids to a baseball game. We haven't done that yet this summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a baseball fan but I do love going to games for all the other stuff!
ReplyDeleteFun stuff! Except the homework part. I'm lucky that Ethan likes homework. He always loved workbooks, so I'm hoping his love for it doesn't fade. I can only imagine how that is not so much fun . . . and the feet pic! Wow, you really will get passed up fast. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys had so much fun!!! Work outings are always great b/c everything is free! :o) I went to my first MLB game less than 2 years ago. Before that, we'd only gone to see teams in the minor leagues play.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a successful first week of school. I'm sure you'll find a way to adapt to the new sports schedule. But there will probably be a few frozen pizza nights in the meantime!
Ahh LOVE this! I went to my first MLB game this past weekend, in Toronto! Saw the Jays take on the Yankees! SOOO much fun, I loved it!! :)
ReplyDeleteYay for baseball!!!! We saw several games on our vacation and we loved it. School starts for us in a couple of weeks and I will be feeling exactly like you are now. I'm already dreading it.
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome that you got to go to a baseball game. I haven't been in years! Looks like you guys had a fun time :D
ReplyDeleteLooks like your little boy is growing up! Haha!
how cool and what memories you are making
ReplyDeleteCan you believe we haven't been to a baseball game all summer???
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a blast!!
Ugh, the homework...that's why I hate school so much too. Glad their first week went well. Sounds like you guys will be very busy with soccer!! That's how we were with baseball this summer.
ReplyDeleteP.S. The baseball outing looks awesome!!
Oh how FUN! The ballgame, not the homework. ;) Loved all the pictures - looks like you all had such a blast!
ReplyDeleteYou must have tiny feet! I'll have to measure Princess Nagger's against mine just for grins. ;)
Sorry you're already ensconced in homework and soccer practices. I have one more week reprieve before that mess starts. ;)

at first I was simply jealous that you made it to the ball park this summer and I know I will not catch it this go round, BUT THEN I SAW RYDER and I was jealous and a bit misty eyed as I have a warm fuzzy memory of taking Bear to Fenway when he was just about that age!! Alright, since you had such a fun family time I won't be jealous anymore ;)
ReplyDeleteLove going to baseball games! The picture of the feet is hilarious! Of course when I put my feet with my husband's it's also pretty funny. I'm sure you have the same thing! My size 6 and his size 12's are quite different.
ReplyDeleteBall games are so much fun. The food all the more heightens the entire experience, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteNow, I'm not quite sure if Lucas simply has big feet, or you have tiny feet :)
Don't feel bad girlie, we are back to school in full force too. I already miss summer! Anika's cheer practices have started already & football season will be here before I know it. Geeze, no idea how I'll do it all.
ReplyDeleteI like the "I don't care if I never go back" part!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun night though. We too have started soccer - and it is already crazy! School starts in 1 week, and I am ready!
I've missed reading your blog, and hope to get back to regular reading! I know you posted about our fun night and I am anxious to go back and read what you wrote!
We are taking JDaniel to his first game next week. It looks like your family had a great time.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant with Ryan, the quartet would sing the anthem for the minor league team and we would get seats, food, and drinks. It was the one time I ate three hotdogs of my own free will. Haha.
ReplyDeleteStartling how big those feet are on that boy! You guys all looked so cute. I wish I could go to the soccer games.
