I was having an awesome amazing dream- when my alarm went off. This was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good very bad day.
I went downstairs to find Lucas already up and playing the computer- the other two were still asleep.
I found the backpacks, lunch boxes and coats. I was ahead of the game.
I decided I would unload the dishwasher. I opened it up- and saw it was full of dirty dishes. This was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
I figured I had better wash the dishes and grabbed the dish soap and got it started.
Ryder woke up soon followed by Alex.
I asked what they wanted for breakfast. Ryder wanted pop-tarts- they were all gone. This was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
I went to pack Alex's snack only to see bubbles on the floor- I opened the dishwasher and bubbles came pouring out. Alex yelled 'what happened!?'. I realized I had put in dish soap and not dishwasher soap. This was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
I got a spoon and started scooping the bubbles. I would scoop and dump into the sink as the bubbles continued to grow. I stepped backwards only to have my sock get all wet.
This was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
We managed to get through breakfast, got everyone dressed, and were ready to head out the door.
"You didn't pack my snack!" Lucas called.
"You forgot to put a drink in my snack!" Alex called.
I hurriedly packed Lucas snack and grabbed Alex a drink. I looked at the clock to see it was 15 minutes later than when we are supposed to leave.
This was a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad day. And you know what- I bet they have days like this, even in Australia.
Since it is Tuesday I am linking up with some other great Tuesday meme's. IA and Shawn's Talk to Us Tuesday and Stacy Uncorked's Random Tuesday

ReplyDeleteaw so sorry to hear about your day I think we all have them at some point. Look on the bright side at lest the floor is clean now
ReplyDeleteWell at least it all happened in one day's time so surely there's nothing left for today!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Dish soap in the washer, ack! I hope you had a relaxing evening to make up for that stressful day!
ReplyDeleteBut how did the day end? Did it get better? I sure hope so.
ReplyDeleteMan, it throws my whole day off when my morning routine changes. Hope today is better!
ReplyDeleteI HATE those days! Also - I've totally done that with the dishwasher!
ReplyDeleteHopefully today is going better for you!
Ouch, that is a seriously bad day. I've luckily never done that with the dishwasher but I do see it as something I would do if I was having a day like that!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying over here. I know you mean a cooking spoon. Something big. But in my head I see a spoon. A little eating spoon. And why not. It was a terrible, horrible, no good bad day. I do hope this morning was much smoother!
ReplyDeleteTruthfully I always wondered what would happen if you mixed them up, you solved my pondering thoughts!
ReplyDeleteIt had to get better.... right?
ReplyDeleteI hope it got better … they only just got off to school.
ReplyDeleteLove this! And I love your tribute to a great book!
Even as a child, I could so relate to that book! Hope your evening ended well ;)
ReplyDeleteSome days when it rains, it just pours. I hope your day got better and hoping for smooth sailing the rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteI wonder why, when days start out like that, they almost ALWAYS continue down that path?! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteMy mom and dad used dish liquid in a laundromat washer when they were on an RVing vacation. What a mess! They laughed about it later, and I bet that laundromat floor was never so clean as it was that day!
ReplyDeleteWhen it rains, it pours doesn't it? Hope your day got better!
ReplyDeleteOh yikes!
ReplyDeleteBummer!!
ReplyDeleteI've done that with the dish soap....but on purpose. It doesn't really work.
Nothing says welcome back to the grind like bubbles and water all over the kitchen floor! You poor thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up and for linking me up to 10 TTTSA!
I hate when I make silly mistakes like that and then cause myself so much more work! So sorry it started out to be such a lousy day. Glad it got a lot better! Donuts really do help fix things, don't they? :)
