There is one day a year that mom's look forward to. A day of pampering, a day of being taken care of, a day of being able to sit around and not having to do a thing.
Mother's Day.
Alex kept reminding me that since it was Mother's Day I "should be doing nothing. The kids should do everything and you should just sit around and relax".
Unfortunately reality often sinks in and the day doesn't go quite as planned. The kids still fight, everyone still needs help getting ready for church and really is any mom really capable of just sitting and doing nothing?
So while I might still have to change a dirty diaper, might still have to help set the table and cut up food on my toddler's plate.. it is still wonderful and perfect in it's own imperfect way.
The homemade cards, the hand print artwork
all perfect as I am realizing these days of simple gifts and simple problems won't last nearly long enough.
It was a great Mother's Day.
There was an added bonus when I received a gift card from the Fairy Hobmother.
Who is the Fairy Hobmother? Well he, yes he, exists to spread light and joy throughout the internet. He visited my blog and wanted to thank me for my hard work and wants to share the love and kindness to others too. He may be able to find you from the comments you leave on my blog and might visit you too.
Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day.
