Right before we went to Chicago I did a newborn shoot, I have another scheduled for next month and on Saturday I did a last minute event shoot, a bridal shower.
Sunday was Father's Day, so of course I had to get a picture of Eric and the kids. Ryder was in rare form; not wanting too cooperate.
He finally started to settle down and was deciding to be happy (the starbursts I was then holding in my hand for a reward after he smiled might have had something to do with it).
"Okay everyone look this way." cliiii----iiii---cccckkk. That was not right. "Something weird just happened with my shutter." I tried again, the shutter seemed slow and off. I tried again only to have nothing happen and an error message pop up. I looked through the view finder-- all black. The shutter would still click but I would get weird images like this.
When I took off my lens I knew immediately what the problem was, one of the mirrors had fallen off.
That glass piece is in the wrong place--I very quickly snapped this with my phone as it is never good to leave the workings exposed as dust inside will totally wreck a camera too |
So today I loving boxed up my baby and shipped it off to Canon... now waiting the diagnosis and the bill.
And that my friends is how you break a photographer's heart.

Since it is Tuesday I am linking up with some other great Tuesday meme's. IA and Shawn's Talk to Us Tuesday and Stacy Uncorked's Random Tuesday
Oh, no! I would be lost without my camera, hopefully it won't cost too much or take too long to fix.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope they get it fixed before your next session.
ReplyDeleteThat is heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteLet us know the damages, we will all be I'm mourning for you.
Oh nooooooo. I hope it can be fixed (inexpensively.) And soon.
ReplyDeleteOh no! That's not good at all... any idea how it happened?
ReplyDeleteHopefully it won't cost to much to get it fixed.
Aw, that's too bad! Especially when you were getting your spark back! Hopefully you get it back good as new before too long :)
ReplyDeleteOh dang! I wonder how that happened/s?
ReplyDeleteOh man!!! What a bummer - Hope it feels better soon!!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhh no!! I sure hope the diagnosis turns out OK (and that it doesn't break the bank to have repaired). Definitely the way to break a photographer's heart for sure. ((HUGZ!!))
ReplyDeleteTalking Dumpsters and Crap and Whacked Elbows in a Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel kinda way.
Aw, I am so sorry. Here's hoping they fix it quickly.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain! And I'm SO SORRY! I'm just glad you didn't say the broken heart was from your sister-in-law getting less good pictures at a place instead of from you. ;) I just couldn't wait any longer and I didn't want to steal away fun time this summer week either.
ReplyDeleteI hope everything turns out well with your camera! Keep me posted!! xoxo
That would make me sad too. I'm so tempted to take mine in for a cleaning before the 1 year product plan ends on it. I hope it's not too expensive and you get it back quickly!
ReplyDeleteSo very sad....best wishes for good news soon!
ReplyDeleteBummer! I wouldn't have known what to do myself. If something happens I'll take a picture with my phone and text you!
ReplyDeleteYikes! I hope all turns out well for that camera of yours! And that the bill isn't through the roof!
ReplyDeleteOh NOOO! That is awful, Emmy! I'm so sorry. You must be feeling so lost without your fourth baby! I hope it's a quick, and inexpensive, fix. Crossing my fingers for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad for you! I hope it's not that big of a deal and can be fixed quickly!
ReplyDeleteLove the family photo for Father's Day. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteI really like your Random Tuesday post.
xo,
RJ
Oh no! You did the right thing sending it off right away. It will be back soon! xo
ReplyDeleteOh man. That's terrible. I did see on FB that you got it fixed though. Yay!!
ReplyDeleteOh no! That is heartbreaking! I hope it got fixed quickly!
ReplyDeleteOh no!!! That is really heartbreaking. I am so sorry!
ReplyDelete(I had to retire my first DSLR after the "repair" didn't seem to fix it. And the 50mm/1.4f that was attached to it at the time doesn't seem to have been fully "repaired" either... so I feel your pain!)
