Today's guest post is from a lady I definitely want to meet someday. She is someone who I have chatted with, faced- timed with, and just have grown to know and love so much. She is my partner in crime with Heartfelt Acts and we are both always looking for new things to keep us excited and motivated for blogging. Her kids are adorable and she says "ya'll!" If you don't know Janette of the Johanson Journey then hurry to her blog (after you read her post here of course).
When I was thinking about chatting with blog pals of EmmyMom, I thought—”gosh, how can I entertain them, what kind of a witty story could I share. Perhaps I’ll just run through a few of my favorite posts but then I got to thinking that I’m not sure I have enough favorite posts to share.”
Isn’t that sad how your mind rolls through what the best thing to write for a guest post is and you come up shorthanded? Well I got to thinking more about it and being asked to be a guest on someone’s blog is like having a friend over for lunch or to watch your house while you are gone for a weekend. The person who asks you to be a guest in her home/blog is really a true blog friend.
There it was… my ah-ha’ moment of what I wanted to share with you all today. I got to thinking about how long I’ve known our dear EmmyMom.
I went back in my email history and found emails dating back to April of 2011. So, we’ve been pals for 2 years and how we found each other or where we connected escapes me but I honestly can’t remember my blogging days without her.
Emmy, I fondly refer to her as has been such a great friend. I could easily spot her kindness with emails and sharing discussions about our children. I think I remember once when I was pregnant with Rayne and we hadn’t found out if we were having a boy or a girl. I remember seeing her son’s name Ryder and thinking, “ I might steal that name!”. I have three children like Emmy and each of my kiddo’s names begin with the letter ‘R’ and when it came to another R name for a boy, I was blank. I know Ryder would have been in the running if we had found out it was a boy.
I’ve been asked to be apart of Emmy’s annual Review Extravaganza which I urge you to stick around because I know it will be bigger and better this year and can only hope to be apart of the success as the years pass by.
Emmy has been there for me when I have hit lows with blogging or had questions or needed advice on how to handle blog situations. She’s someone who understands when I vent about my kiddos and easily relates to me as I do with her in our Mommy Moments and thankfully she has helped me to find more things to Smile about in life.
I think finding a friend you can count on for support in your blog and in your personal life is key. I have always read about blogging tribes and finding a tribe and sticking with them. I can say for sure Emmy is in my tribe and when new adventures come along or ideas, I know I can count on her. I can’t imagine anyone more perfect to partnering with for our Heart Felt Acts each month. Together we have set personal goals and hope that between us we can encourage others to spread good.
I’ve found my true blog friend. I may have only met her via a few Facetime encounters while trying to figure out how to work the app on my phone or texted back and forth but in two years of history together, I know if I saw her in person, I could hug her and giggle on the couch for hours with out a worry in the world.
Have you found a friend or two like that in the blogging community? The true friends you find here are the ones who will make you want to keep going when it gets tough to come up with something to write for a post.. they make it worth it!
Love ya Em!
