Yesterday we were all set to try potty training again. I set my timer- every ten minutes would take him to the bathroom. We would celebrate that Lightning McQueen was still dry- no pee wash for him!
Almost two hours went by, sitting on the toilet about every ten minutes, still always dry.. still never peeing.
Then finally success!!
Much to both of our surprise he actually peed on toilet.
We danced! We cheered! He got two starbursts.
Then we began the process again, except this time I let him go a little longer so he could finish his show.
Okay lets go to the bathroom now I said.
"Okay" as he ran to the bathroom. I went to pull of his underwear- it was soaked, as well as the couch where he had been sitting. Sitting in soaking wet underwear in a big wet puddle without the least bit of awareness...
...this is going to be a long long road.

Oh honey! You have my sympathy right now! ALL of it! I'm so sorry!
ReplyDeleteAt least he is super cute (: I wish I had some crazy awesome advice or something but I don't. He went once though, so that's good!
ReplyDeleteBless you. :)
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK AT HIM!!!!!! I have been away TOO LONG!!!!!!! Don't you worry, its gonna happen :-)
ReplyDeleteLook at that cute face! Wishing you lots of potty training success.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a little potty seat? Maybe he could sit on that to watch shows. I think most kids aren't aware of much when shows are on?? It took Ethan SO LONG too, so I feel for you. Good luck!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe don't- just a seat that can go on the regular toilet, but yea I am thinking of getting one, though I am afraid then he would just pee while sitting on it and not even realize it and learn
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have a feeling I need it
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so. Okay well I know it will, it just sure doesn't feel like it right now
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
ReplyDeleteYep- though still just one time unfortunately
ReplyDeleteThanks girl!
ReplyDeleteI won't share our horror stories... The couch has had many such puddles. Then all of a sudden he figured out how to pee in the potty on Monday. Yeah! He will get it. Eventually. (And mine will too!)
ReplyDeleteI hate hate HATE potty traiining....I HATE it. It's the one part of raising kids I am absolutely no good at!!!
ReplyDeleteBut he is awful cute...
ReplyDeleteI have just begun to address the potty training issue. I'm not looking forward to it. I truly believe it is the worst part of parenting a toddler! Good luck to you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you- and yea I really think it is definitely one of the worst parts
ReplyDeleteHe is... Doesn't make me want to pull my hair out any less though :)
ReplyDeleteYes!! The only people I know who like it are the ones that have those crazy kids that just one day say I am a big kid now and hardly ever have accidents
ReplyDeleteYes! fingers crossed for both of us
ReplyDeleteOh girl I will be thinking about you during this process...it's a tough one and so frustrating!
ReplyDeleteHe is cute... but don't give in to the cuteness! You guys can both do this.
ReplyDeleteIs there something that he really wants? Maybe a new toy or book? If so, tell him that at the end of the week if he does stays dry during the day he can pick one out. Or something along those lines.
The trouble is- most of the time he is more than happy to go potty. He will even pause his show, whatever he is playing to go potty. So he isn't fighting me about going, but sometimes in the times between he will pee all over himself and it isn't until I say, okay lets go potty and I point out that he is wet and he will look down and be like I am? He truly doesn't seem to care or know.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have done it twice before-- but the way he is having problems is just baffling to me.
ReplyDeleteI hate potty training. Good luck! To think he couldn't even tell. *shakes head*
