Now before you all go on hating me for where I live, trust me there are a lot of downsides too; extremely expensive, completely bankrupt state with crazy politics, etc. etc.
But, when one of those people who saved up some money to have an awesome vacation is your former college roommate and she gets to stop by my house because it is literally on their route to their destination (wow long run on sentence) then it is awesome!
Sunday, my Amy and her family stopped in for dinner and a visit. We had a great dinner (thanks to my husband for cooking it all while I was at a meeting)
The kids all played so wonderfully.
My kids and Amy's kids - check out the curls on Amy's oldest, just like Ryder! |
I have to be honest, I really am not the best at keeping in touch with Amy, other than facebook and instragram, no weekly phone calls or anything, but when I saw her it felt like no time had passed at all- we were ready to put on our pajamas and go running again!

I love it when you see and old friend and it's like you just picked up where you left off! No time passed or anything. Those are special friends! :o) I love that old picture!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I always tell my husband that we should move to California. I'm joking. Sometimes. Until February, and then I'm really, really not joking. I love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteSo fun that you got to see her again! Love the freshmen year pic.
ReplyDeleteNo one really comes right here- people assume that since I'm on the coast of NC, that means Outer Banks, but that's three hours away from us.
I always say that one of the biggest benefits of living in SoCal is how so many people come to us! They're on vacation and we get to share in it. So special!
ReplyDeleteCute pics!! Getting together with old friends is always fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm in Michigan and not in one of the big cities or tourist areas so very few come my way.
Someday I want to hit up So Cal. Looks like you guys had fun and it's great you were able to catch up! Too bad you couldn't spend more time together!!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I live in Asheville, NC which is a huge tourist destination in the fall (and many other times of the year.) Our anniversary is this weekend and I remember people were so excited to visit for our wedding. It was a gorgeous time of year, and makes me feel really lucky that I get to live here year-round!
ReplyDeleteHow nice! Its fun to catch up with friends we haven't seen. Looks like your kids had a great time!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! How is it that you are the mommy when you look like you're still in high school?
ReplyDeleteAww so glad you got to catch up with a good friend!
ReplyDeleteYes me too! It really was such a great evening, too short but wonderful
DeleteSo sweet how you call her "my Amy"! I could do the same with my beloved college roomie! Glad you got to visit.
ReplyDeleteYep, she definitely is my Amy :) We met our freshmen year, lived next door in the dorms and then roomed together our sophomore year, then I got married but just those two years was more than enough to cement a forever friendship
DeleteWhat fun! I'm so lucky in that my college roomie only lives an hour away and we get to see each other frequently.
ReplyDeleteThat is lucky! I wish she lived closer.
