Who here has a sweet tooth? Who would like something like this?
Or this?
Drooling yet?
Janell Brown, winner of Cupcake Wars is sharing her recipes, tips and how to make amazing cupcakes in her new book One Sweet Cupcake.
Janell grew up in a small town with only one mom and pop grocery store, so not only are her recipes amazing but they easy recipes made with ingredients you can find at any grocery store. When she faced some financial struggles, this stay-at-home mom decided to take her hobby to the next level and opened her own (now award winning) business.
The book is beautiful with big amazing pictures, like the ones above. Not only does Janell share recipes but she also shares tips to be able to make sure your cupcakes will be awesome.
I was amazed at the amount of recipes for different kinds of cupcakes. As soon as I thought it would end there was another section with even more recipes.
She also shares frosting recipes, decorating tips, topping and fillings recipes. It really is very comprehensive. Also, though she gives the full recipe for each type of cupcake, the way the book is divided into sections, would make it very easy to mix and match different fillings or frostings with different varieties of cupcakes.
The book really is pretty with big pictures, big easy to read font, and just makes me want to start baking, or at least keep flipping the pages and drooling over all the recipes!

That first cupcake up top looks delicious! I have a terrible sweet tooth. Given the choice between something healthy or something sweet, healthy never wins.
ReplyDeleteYes me too! Which is why I try not to have things like this around too much as yea, I can’t resist!
DeleteYou had me at cupcakes. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI think I had everyone at cupcakes :)
DeleteI love Cupcake Wars! There's a shop in Victoria Gardens that's owned by a lady who won on that show.
ReplyDeleteOh, I did not know that! I will have to check it out
DeleteImpossible to choose a favorite cupcake. Lemon Blueberry, chocolate, spice cake with maple cream cheese, lime curd filled cupcakes.. Ack! I love them all. ;)
ReplyDeleteYes and you are so good at making cupcakes too! I totally thought of you when I got this book to review
DeleteMmmmm those cupcakes looks sooo yummy!! I can't resist when it comes to cupcakes!!
ReplyDeleteMe either! Though in some ways cake is more dangerous as it is easy just to slice off a tiny sliver every now and then (every time I pass by the cake)
DeleteCupcakes are my favorite - and really need to get back into making them! The problem is that I will eat them all!
ReplyDeleteHowever, my very favorite cupcake must be a pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese frosting! Delicious!
Yes! I too love cupcakes but try not to make them too often as they are too hard to resist!
DeleteChocolate on chocolate (on chocolate on chocolate.) That's my favorite.
ReplyDeleteYumm!!!
DeleteHmm, I think I would have to go with a chocolate cupcake with some sprinkles.. any cupcake is delicious though :D
ReplyDeleteYes chocolate is always good, though I have to admit I am not a sprinkles fan.
DeleteAny cupcake, they are my fave, portable sugar is always a winner!
ReplyDeletePortable sugar, love it!
