July
We started July with a bang with a beach trip and fireworks
I mourned over the fact that summer was half over and told you some of my favorite Ryder-isms
Told you how to totally wear your kids out over 4th of July weekend, complete with a jelly fish sting
Told you lots of "5 Things" about me with Old School Blogging and I got to photograph a newborn right before we left for our trip to Utah (which I still have not blogged about!! I get my blog printed every year, so yes you will be seeing a recap of this trip next week, 6 months late!)

We spent the rest of the month swimming, going to the beach and going to my cousin's wedding.

August
Right before school started we had a "Yes Day" where the answer to everything was yes!
School started! Yes on August 5th! Way too soon in my opinion.
Shared some quick and easy school lunch ideas, which is in my top 10 posts of all time.
September
We spent labor day weekend in Big Bear
Shared why Doctors are so smart, told you I had blog writer's block-but was kicking butt at the book I am writing, why I freaked out about volunteering in my kids class, and how I was a bad mom when I laughed when Ryder got a bucket stuck on his head.-- but I didn't laugh when he did great in his big boy bed (no more crib!)
I told you why I was glad I only have one girl-- this picture is a big hint.
And I had an awful- hope to never be repeated two week plus time period of awful stomach problems

I think it's so cool that you started writing your first book this year! I can't wait to see where it takes you! Maybe one day I'll be able to say I'm friends with a famous novelist. ;o)
ReplyDeleteHopefully :) Though I must admit my lack of progress on it lately is horrible... gotta get back to it. Maybe will need to set some specific goals for it for the new year.
DeleteI love summer time, this post makes me miss it! How do you go about printing your blog each year?
ReplyDeleteThere are two options which both seems good, Blurb and Blog2Print. Blurb always seems to come in a little bit cheaper in price/per page. I think Blog2Print may be a little easier, nicer layout initially; but I always go with the savings. Blurb will be able to slurp up your entire blog, or just the time range, I always do a year at a time. You will want to go in and edit it, as it will put only one post per page pretty much and there will be a lot of wasted space. The book is usually cut almost in half by the time I go in and move around things and edit it.

You should do a yes day, it was a lot more fun than even I thought it would be.
DeleteI love the idea of a yes day. I think I'm going to steal that one next summer. And cheese should be a passion in my book.
ReplyDeleteYes, i do so love cheese. We are definitely going to do the Yes day every summer now- it will be our last big hurrah before school starts
DeleteI don't think I realized before that our two oldest are in the same grades! I love the idea of a yes day. I might have to try that over the winter break!
ReplyDeleteThe yes day really turned out so much fun and I was surprised at how simple my kids kept things, in fact I had to at times suggest things to make it more elaborate. :)
