Have I ever said how much easier it is for me to take pictures of other people's kids? My kids just don't always like to listen to me.
Plus, combine the fact that I am a natural light photographer, but decided to bust out my very old studio lighting that a friend gave me... and well I might have had a little melt down mid-session. Thankfully, I got myself together and in the end got several shots that are definitely Christmas card worthy... now just to make the cards, get them printed and actually mail them off!
I present you with "Deck the....Kids"
I love, love, love that last photo. Definitely do a fun and a serious photo. I include our cat each year (and I'll be sharing our photos in a few days - cards go out today!) I paid someone to take our photos and I'm so glad I did. Lucas does NOT listen to me anymore when it comes to photos!
ReplyDeleteYes! We at first were trying to decorate the little tree for the pictures which would lead to them decorating each other but Ryder wanted nothing to do with it at first.. so I literally gave up, said forget it, then about 20 minutes later we tried again with a different approach and it worked.
DeleteOh my, I love the last three! They are gorgeous! There is also something to be said about the first ones, they might not be "perfect" but they show siblings having such a great time together. I love getting cards like that. I"m no help at all.
ReplyDeleteLol! No worries, I couldn’t decide either, so I found a great card design that I could use them all. The silly ones on the front and the two light ones inside.
DeleteI'm so glad you did the ones with the Christmas lights in front of the kids! When I saw that pin on Pinterest, I knew it would be perfect for ya'll! {Doesn't have quite the same effect with only one kid...}
ReplyDeleteMy favorite of all of these is the one in B&W. Everyone looks so natural in that one. I'm sure it's beautiful in color, too!
Yes, I am glad you pouted it out to me, though I had seen it, helped me remember to do it :)
DeleteIt does look nice in color but I just loved it in B&W, was just the perfect picture for it
I like the second to last one, black and white...also the last one...also the first one...also the one where they are standing....such cute grandchildren I have! What a talented mom they have! Hooray! It's Christmas once more!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes the kids had fun throwing tinsel all over each other, though it got a bit crazy at times.
DeleteFirst one for the silly - last one for the more serious... the B&W one is also very cool!! LOVE these pics!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I ended up finding a card I like where I was able to use all the pics. Silly ones on the front and the two light ones inside. :)
DeleteI adore the black and white photo!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Me too
DeleteFirst one and last two. But they are all so so cute! What a fun idea! I wanted to do cards too, but not gonna happen...maybe next year!
ReplyDeleteYes, I have been trying to take these pictures for about a month now and finally happening.. so yea. :)
DeleteSuper cute idea and pics!
ReplyDelete~Sara
Thank you!
DeleteLove the black and white with lights!
ReplyDeleteThanks! One of my favorites too. I have decided I definitely like natural light photography a lot better, or need to get better studio lights or know how to work them better, i had my ISO cranked on these pictures
DeleteDefinitely one of the last 2, leaning toward the black and white!
ReplyDeleteYes, I just love how that one looks in black and white
DeleteYou always take such cute pics of your kids! They are going to be so glad for these memories!!
ReplyDeleteI can't pick.. they are all great!
Thank you! I couldn’t pick either, so found a card that I used them all :)
DeleteSoooooo cute! I LOVE the last two so much <3
ReplyDeleteThank you! I ended up picking out and ordering the cards today and all of the pictures made it! Though those last two are by far the biggest with inside spots on the card.

ReplyDeleteThe black and white one is magnificent - my favorite!
ReplyDeleteBut they are all really wonderful, and I'm glad you used all of them!
I LOVE the last photo. I think I'd go serious on the outside (last photo) and silly on the inside!
ReplyDeleteSeriously I love all of these!!! The black and white one is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun idea! I love the lights and the hats. And of course their sweet faces. I think they are all great. I mean who wouldn't WANT to see them all and smile big like I did!? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got your pictures done!!! They are all so fun, you could add 'naughty or nice' on some of them but I think my favorite is the black and white one -
ReplyDeleteHi! please take time to drop by my blog: http://dianinidelrosario.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThanks!
what fun! I am always a sucker for the Chirstmas tree light shots, but your kiddos playful sibling nature with each other makes for some sweet shots too!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! TJ
Looks like you have a few good ones to choose from! I never got a picture of my three...hanging head in shame. I'm hoping to get one tomorrow but I don't think any cards will be going out this year. :(
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures. Sure love you guys.
ReplyDeleteThey are all great! I love the 2nd to last one with the lights in black and white.
ReplyDeleteOh, you definitely need to include a silly shot or two - those are just darling!
ReplyDeleteI'm just not sure how you could even pick. They're all great!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I didn’t in the end, used them all, now if they will just get here!
DeleteI love the b/w one. So striking and..luminous. And very different from most cards you get. Original, and very nice!
