2. I got published! Not my book, still a long ways to go on writing that, but an article I submitted for The New Era, a LDS magazine for teenagers, published a piece I submitted! You can read it here.
3. Conversation with Ryder
Me: "You are funny."
Ryder: "No you are funny!"
Me: "No you're so funny."
Ryder: Sighs- then in a totally serious voice "Okay the bench is funny."
4. We finally got a basketball hoop! Eric grew up playing basketball, even got recruited from some small colleges, but we have never had one. Since Alex is in basketball we decided it was definitely time. I think he is even more excited about it than the kids.
5. Yesterday picture of the day was 'best invention ever', it was one of those questions that you could really over think but I said the automobile, as otherwise how I would get to Target.
Even though he is so big he still likes me to carry him in the mornings |
The irony is those spilled while I was cleaning out the fridge |
Watching for daddy to come home |
What would you say is the best invention ever?
I also did a Friday Five today - check it out: http://stacys101list.blogspot.ca/2014/01/stolen-from-emmy-mom-friday-five.html
ReplyDeleteSo glad you did! Starting this week I am going to make it a linky so if you do it again, which I hope you do, you can add your link
DeleteWe got a basketball hoop for Christmas- it took all day to put together! The boys love it, though.
ReplyDeleteOurs took all day too, plus Eric, Lucas and I working together at a few points, I don’t think it would have been possible for one person
DeleteThat's so cool that you got published in The New Era! I read the article and it's good and so relevant to the youth. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much
DeleteI have so many wonderful memories of watching Eric play basketball. I'm so glad you guys finally got a hoop!! And as you know, I LOVE your article!! Can't wait to read it to my kids. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe watched a few videos from him playing when he was younger this weekend that your dad sent us, it was fun
DeleteNice pic of Ryder snuggling...can't wait to try out the hoop. I think the best invention is hot water--right in your home for a morning shower. Every time I'm inside my shower I think of my grandmother who did not enjoy such luxury. I pretty much love air conditioning too.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that is one I don't even think about- just take for granted I think
DeleteSo great that your article got published! My daughter is dreaming of being a cheerleader for her school in two years. Until then she's been cheering for YMCA basketball and taking gymnastics. I've watched some of those cheer competitions and I'm completely amazed at them!
ReplyDeleteI know! The flips they do and how they manage not to crash into each when tumbling across the floor is amazing to me
DeleteThe apples made me laugh. I'm having one of those days myself. Congratulations on getting published!
ReplyDeleteGotta love days like that huh? They were actually pears though, with sticky pear juice
DeleteThat's so awesome that your article was published in the New Era! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was a wonderful surprise
DeleteCongrats on the published article! I'm not one bit surprised - you're an excellent writer. You deserve the recognition!
ReplyDeleteI have always been in awe of how cheerleaders and dancers can move their bodies. Mine just doesn't do that.
I'll agree with you about the best invention ever, but I think I'd go a bit more broad and just say transportation in general - cars, boats, subways, airplanes, trains - how else would I travel without those? :o)
Thank you so much! That really means a lot.
DeleteYes, even when I was younger my body couldn’t move like those cheerleaders do! When I was thinking of the car I did at one point think about planes and things too and actually thought of you :) So yes transportation
Congratulations on getting published! How exciting! Don't things always spill when cleaning out the fridge? That's why I try to avoid it!
ReplyDeleteYes! I usually avoid it too :)
DeleteTo me it's the internet.
ReplyDeleteI remember life before the internet. Raised my children without it. GASP!
Yikes the pears........sticky!
Oh that’s true, I didn’t even think of that one. It definitely has changed things a ton!
DeleteCongrats on being published!!!! How exciting! Best invention? What did we ever do without the internet?!! Haha But I am going to go with electricity!
ReplyDeleteOh yes and without electricity there would be no internet.
DeleteHey Woot Woot! I loved your article, congrats. Ryder is hilarious, by the way.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! He really is such a funny clever boy.
DeleteCongratulations on your publishing! So awesome!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being published! That is great news. Your conversation with Ryder had me cracking up. They really tell you like it is at that age, don't they?
ReplyDeleteYes they sure do! I am always blown away by how clever and silly he is
DeleteI gasped when you posted that pear pic earlier this week. I once spilled a whole pitcher of juice, so much work to clean up.
ReplyDeleteUgh! that would be such a pain to clean
DeleteI like your Friday posts :). Someday I'm going to steal this idea (obviously giving you credit :))
ReplyDeleteThis week I am going to open it up as a linky!
DeleteThe apple picture is rockin- of course it would be while you are cleaning it ;). Glad it's not only me that happens to! Congratulations on getting an article published!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Yes, it made me think it was a sign that I shouldn’t clean ;)
