10 Things to Smile About This Month: January
1. Ryder became a Sunbeam!
2. Crazy sunsets (no filter, taken with my phone)
3. Finding a system that so far is really helping me get and stay organized this year
4. Alex was student of the month and Lucas was artist of the month!
5. Watching Ryder's first real friendship (other than family) grow
6. Alex kicking butt at basketball (even if all the teams might hate us by the end of the season)
Weird reflection as I was shooting through glass |
8. Getting to hang out with my bestie CA Girl for a day; who says she is going to start blogging more regularly again, so head over to her blog to help keep her going!
9. Seeing how much fun the kids and especially my husband are having with our new basketball hoop. I think it really means a lot to Eric to have kids like playing basketball.
10. The little moments in life and finding joy in small things, like jumping over the cracks in sidewalks. Life can sometimes be so simply sweet.
All such great things to smile about. Student and Artist of the month - that's huge!
ReplyDeleteYes! Fun that something big happened for each of them too around the same time
DeleteMy big kids have recently started jumping cracks again in the sidewalk. Makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteMy husband will jump them with him every week coming out of church, boys never do grow up :)
DeleteI loved seeing my kids forming their first friendships! It's such a sweet time.
ReplyDeleteIt really is! Now just need to find a new friend for him
DeleteLoved the pic of the sunset. It looks like fire. Thanks for the shout out. Love you.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLove you too!
Fabulous list, and fabulous pictures, as always! What wonderful reasons to smile :) My neighbour had a basketball hoop when we were kids, and I loved going over to their paved driveway (ours was gravel and no good for bouncing basketballs) - and shooting hoops. I was terrible at it, and that's as far as my love for basketball ever went, but it's a fond childhood memory when I look back on it. Just running around that driveway and shooting hoops until it got too dark to see!
ReplyDeleteOur driveway was gravel too growing up, all but a little section right before the garage, where we had a hoop but I don’t know if I ever shot at it, I think i thought it was my brother’s thing.
DeleteYup, had every intention of doing this and forget. I forgot, you forget? Happens to me.. lol. Sorry quote from my husband!
ReplyDeleteVery cool about Lucas' artwork! I just learned who that person was yesterday. Also cool that the kids all enjoy bball because isn't Eric really big into that? And that's a great shot of Alex although that reflection is priceless!
But you did it today! It totally doesn’t have to be done on the exact day, that is why I leave the linky open for a week and a half :)
DeleteEric definitely is big into basketball. Played all through high school and got recruited by some small colleges. He plays on a city league now
Beautiful sunset! Your kids are awesome. I'm looking forward to family dates like that in the future. so sweet!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun when they get big enough to really enjoy places like this.. but then they also get “bored” more easily too, so good and bad to every stage
DeleteYour kids and family are just the cutest! I want a basketball hoop for our driveway, so much fun!
ReplyDeleteYes, we have been saying for a year or so now that we should get one and finally did
DeleteWhat a gorgeous sunset! Seriously, #5? That little girl is all business in that picture. So cute! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI know! I was surprised as she is actually horribly shy (even around me who she sees pretty regularly) so often will run and hide from a camera.
DeleteFun stuff! I can't believe how fast this month went. Crazy!! I'll link up tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteYea! Can't wait to see your list!

DeleteWow--loved the pictures...The shot of Alex at the hoop is amazing. Very cool that Lucas did such an amazing art project. That seriously is beautiful. Will it be for sale when you get it back...I mean...I would pay him for it! Too bad about Ryder's friend...and how is Sunbeams going for him? XOXO
