Since this is Friday 5, I figured I would ask Jamie 5 questions to get to know her better.
1. How long have you been blogging? 9 years this month!
2. What is your favorite part about blogging? The people I have met. I've made several really great friends through this crazy hobby of mine.
3. If you could go on a vacation anywhere, where would you go? I would love to go back to the Bahamas if it were a quick vacation. I've never been to London and I would love to visit one day.
4. What is your favorite dessert? I'm a chocolate lover (milk vs. dark, for me, but I'm also not choosy.) There's a great place in town called the Chocolate Lounge and they have an amazing mint chocolate brownie. I'm in love.
5. What good book have you read lately? Um. Dinosaurs? (Really, this is the book we bought my son last weekend and we've read it no fewer than 10 times each day.) I'm a huge, huge fan of Jane Green and she has a new book coming out in March. She's the only author I actually pre-order and I read her books right away.
Definitely go read Jamie's blog here. You can find her on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest
Thank you Jamie for being my first co-host.
Here is my Friday 5
1. We got more rain this week! In fact it is supposed to rain all weekend, a very needed thing and fun as it is cute to hear Ryder say he wants to use his ka-brealla. No idea why he says it like that but I secretly love it.
2. Cooking seems to be an every other week sort of thing for me lately. Last night we had cheese chips for dinner, but I did cook a side of vegetables, some spam, and apple juice to go along with it. Mother of the year here. And yes my kids (and me) actually really like spam. The reason we even tried it, Weird Al, true story.
3. Soccer is actually going really well so far, no complaining at all from the kids about going to practice in fact they both really like it, but that still didn't stop me from doing a happy dance when practice was canceled yesterday.
4. Both Lucas and Alex got awards for good citizenship and good grades this past week. After Alex's awards ceremony, they are divided by grades, my friend who watches Ryder took him home to her house, leaving me all by myself to see Lucas awards...... it was weird. I felt like I was missing something. It hit me that this is how it would always be in a couple of years for things like that. It really was a bitter sweet moment.
5. My bedroom still makes me smile every time I go in.

When I read the title, I was thinking what is ka-brellas. How cute your son calls umbrella that!

Yep, I figured that might confuse some people, but might also make them want to come read to find out what in the world I was talking about :)
DeleteLove that picture of Ryder with his umbrella!
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way when we'd complete a room in our house - every time I'd walk in, I'd get this big grin on my face. :o)
Yes and you did such an amazing job with your house, it was so beautiful
DeleteI saw the umbrella photo on IG (this morning I think?) SO stinking cute!!
ReplyDeleteYep, it was there :) If you follow me on instagram you probably will see lots of familiar pictures on Friday 5
DeleteI love their mis-sayings! I'm always a little sad when they go away. There's nothing quite like an unexpected down night is there? They're better than having a planned night with nothing to do. Congrats to Alex and Lucas!
ReplyDeleteYes, I love it too and I know it will go away all too soon that I don't always correct him :)
DeleteUgh, I have not cooked once all week, have to do better next week. And I actually don't mind Spam as long as it is crispy on the outside!
ReplyDeleteYes! That is how we like it too, actually pretty good that way
DeleteI hate cooking but I hate Spam more. You now have to share the Weird Al story. Haha.
ReplyDeleteI thought I would hate it too, but if you grill it for a few minutes on each side it is actually pretty tasty. We used to always listen to Eye of Tiger on the way to soccer games, then one time for fun Eric played the Weird Al version, which led to listening to the rest of the Weird Al songs, a favorite of which is the Spam one, so after hearing that song so many times we had to try Spam
DeletePS I love ka-brella (it finally let's me post and it won't let me type after a sentence or two! What?
ReplyDeleteThat is weird, wonder why
DeleteThe love of cooking definitely comes and goes, but I usually cook anyway. That doesn't mean my kids like it though…haha!
ReplyDeleteYes, my kids definitely don't always like it but I know Eric does so I just need to get back into it, cheaper too
DeleteSo one of these days I'll actually remember it's Friday :). I swear :). So do you change up that window for every season? I love that!!! I need to hunt down one for myself! Are you anywhere near this landslide stuff that's making national news?
ReplyDeleteI do— though I don’t really have a spring decor yet, so sometimes certain months get left up a lot longer that others. I do have Christmas, Valentines, St. Patricks, 4th of July, and Fall— going to try and get something for every month.
DeleteThankfully we aren’t all that close to where the landslides are.
Kabrellas makes me so happy. :)
ReplyDeletePlease feel free to remind me to do this next round! I love your interactive posts, but am always late. Next time!
Yes, i love the Ka-brella too. No idea why he says it like that.
DeleteI love all the pictures!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Lucas and Alex!
Thank you! Yes I was proud mama
DeleteI like Spam too. My family, not so much. Oh well. It's probably better that way! I saw your makeover, but didn't leave a comment. It turned out so very nice! I bet you are just thrilled!
ReplyDeleteYea we are all fans, so Saturday lunch lately has become quesadillas and spam, easy and quick. Thank you, I am so happy with how it turned out, just love the space now.
