How a Girl Gets What She Wants

She's got skills, skills that she learned all on her own, I think she came inborn with them.

Friday morning, Valentines Day, I woke up after sleeping in (thank you no school day) to find 4 little hearts on the table.  They were little notes that Eric had made for each of us.  I read Ryder what his said and read mine.  Alex asked me if I saw the hearts, I told her I did.

I sent a quick text to Eric thanking him for the sweet little notes.  He told me that the night before when he was tucking Alex in she was looking at a heart shaped note that Eric had written the year before that she still had!  She told him how nice it was and asked if he was going to write more notes this year.

He woke up a few minutes earlier than his already ridiculous early wakeup time to make sure he would have time to write little notes for each of us.

Alex was a happy girl.

Throughout the day Alex kept bringing up how daddy brought us flowers last year and asked if I thought he would again.  "Probably Miss, I guess we will just have to see" I replied.

Later that evening, the familiar ring that I have assigned to Eric rang out.

"I want to talk to daddy!" Alex immediately chimed in.
"Okay, in just a minute" I said taking my turn first.

I finished chatting and then handed Alex the phone.

"Hi daddy" she purred.  "Daddy do you remember the roses you brought for mom and me last year? Remember you brought red ones and white ones.  I think you gave mom the red ones but I can't remember for sure.  Do you know I think pink is pretty color.  Though I like white too as did you know white is actually all colors combined. (she was thinking of light waves).  Those flowers were really pretty daddy.  I'm glad it's Valentines Day again.   I'm glad you're coming home.  We will see you soon."

I sat there listening to her side of the conversation trying not to laugh.

Her hint worked.

  3. Haha, now I just have to ask, did Eric already have plans of getting you girls flowers or was it all Alex's doing?

    1. I am pretty sure he did have plans to get us flowers, but there was no way he would not be able to after that

    1. I know! I didn’t realize she had kept it that long.. well I guess I should say I am not surprised she kept it but that she actually knew where it was and could find it, she is a bit of a hoarder.

  5. Now that is girl power. Girls can get as they please from their daddies! It never ends either, my dad will still do what it takes to get me what I want!
