We did start the celebration by going out to dinner on our actual anniversary (Monday) to a really fancy restaurant with to-die for food; then this weekend we got to have a weekend getaway.
Friday night we headed down to San Diego to the Hyatt right on the bay. It was beautiful.
We walked along the water and watched the sunset.
Even saw a dolphin right close in the water.
We followed with some night swimming in one of the 3 pools, then bought a smores kit they sold at the pool-side bar. We roasted the marshmallows over one of the many fire pits, then it was time for some chocolatey good yumminess!
I woke up the next morning, feeling well rested. The light barely came through the top of the very dark curtains. I glanced at the clock, 8:00 A.M.! That might not sound late but when your kids are up at 6:00 AM everyday, that is a glorious morning of sleeping in.
We got breakfast from Einstein bagel and ate breakfast on our patio.
We then rented Segways!
They were so fun to ride on along the beach and actually a lot easier to drive than I thought they would be. It was fun cruising past everyone and the view was beautiful. We ended up going all over the place, even up this big grassy hill when we took a wrong turn and were trying to get back on track.
It was such a fun weekend and definitely the best anniversary celebration we have ever had! Thank you Mom and Dad for watching our kids.
