Old School Blogging: Summer Questions

I am joining Elaine of The Miss Elaine-ous Life for some Old School Blogging.

What was your favorite thing you did alone this summer?   Read books, my kids would be playing together or watching a movie and I would sneak away and read a book.  You can always see what I have been reading on Goodreads.  I also did puzzles, lots of puzzles.

What was your favorite thing you did as a family this summer?  Definitely our trip to Utah and Yellowstone.  We went and visited with Eric's family in Utah and then met up with my entire family (for the first time in many years) and had a big reunion in Yellowstone.  It was so fun being with everyone and we packed a ton of fun into the days we were there.  Here's a fun little video of just one of our days of fun.
What books did you read this summer? Well I guess I have to tell now, huh?  From first to last starting in May, when our summer began:  Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson; The Quantum Breach by Denver Acey;  Sense and Sensibility a Latter Day Tale by Rebecca Jamison; How Much Do You Love Me? by Paul Mark Tag; The Four series by Veronica Roth; Willow Springs by Carolyn Steele; and Hope After Suicide by Wendy Parmley

What do you WISH you had done this summer?  Got a few more organizational projects finished and the kids rooms cleaned out a little better.

What movies did you see this summer (if any)? Defenders of the Galaxy most recently, the newest X-men movie, Planes Fire and Rescue and I am sure a few others I am forgetting

Where did you travel this summer? We went to Utah and Yellowstone and the beach once when we had company in town.
My entire side of the family- my parents, six siblings, in-laws and lots of grandkids
What was your favorite treat (as in dessert) this summer? ice-cream, with lots of fudge sauce on it.

What did you celebrate this summer? The 4th of July of course and 13 years of marriage

Did you grow anything this summer?  Other than my children who always seem to be getting bigger-nope.

What is a favorite post (if you blog) that you wrote this Summer?  That is a tough one.. in all honesty, I felt like I kind of sucked at blogging this summer, but there were a few posts I did like:
Our Yes Day - definitely a very fun end of summer tradition
Cookie Goodness- just a fun post showing our lazy summer days
  and

What is a favorite photograph that you took this summer?  I am a photorapher- do you know how hard it is to pick one.. so I am cheating and picking one from each summer month (our summer began in May)
May: My son's 4-year-old photo shoot
KG4A0988
June- Father's Day picture- favorite because of the people in it
KG4A1407
July: One of the many amazing things to see in Yellowstone- this place seemed like an alien world
KG4A2478 (1)
August: My baby going off to preschool!
What do you want to do next summer?  Have our traditional Utah cousin get tougher, this last summer with the timing of other trips and one of the families moving, we didn't end up doing our true yearly Utah trip.  Lucas keeps saying he wants to go to SanFrancisco- so maybe we will have to take a road trip there.

How about you, is there anything you didn't do this summer that you wish you had?

  1. I'd love to go to San Francisco - take me with you! ;) I need to use my GoodReads account. I've read so many books this summer (and my goal was 3.) It's time to track them all!

  5. Fun stuff Em. I can't believe summer went so fast. I can't believe how crazy the time goes. My to-do list before baby comes is so long and at this rate, I won't get any of it done! Oh well!! Seeing you this summer sure was fun!

  6. I love that video because it reminded me of our time at the lake in Canada and because everyone was having so much fun.

And I agree, ice cream with fudge sauce is the best!

  7. Ugh, I keep writing comments and they keep disappearing while it signs me into google. Grr! I loved your answer about kids, they are constantly getting bigger aren't they? Looks like you had an amazing summer! I read so many books this summer, but most of them are too cheesy to list. They are my guilty pleasure!
