1. I have been kicking butt lately when it comes to writing my book. For a while it just sat there but now the ideas are flowing and I am writing whenever I get the chance, which isn't as often as I would like as I have to have a block of uninterrupted time.
2. Sometimes motherhood can feel mundane, boring or just dang hard. But I believe as long as we are trying, we never really know the impact and good we are doing. I know the following isn't a thought, but I really wanted to share this video I saw yesterday.
3. I have a good friend who is also a photographer who is going to be taking my family's picture in November- now I have to figure out outfits for all of us! You would think with the families I photograph that I would have lots of great idea.. but to be honest I have no idea! Anyone want to go shopping with me?
4. I am not sure if it is Lucas' teacher, the change in curriculum or what but he has hardly had any homework this year. I am totally loving it... as I am sure he is too.
5. I don't feel like I can leave the house today until the delivery truck comes that is. I am getting the new iPhone and very excited, though I hate having to wait for a delivery, I just know he is going to come the minute I go to the bathroom or for the time I am gone picking my kids up from school... sigh.

We had a Meet the Teacher night last night and other than home reading every night, the teacher explained to us that she feels that they don't need homework, she wants them to focus on reading (she really pushes reading) and that she wants them to be refreshed and focused when they come to school. She said you can ask about Math and what is going on, but we have the curriculum and know what they are learning in science, and stuff and we can just ask about it and stuff. I think its great cuz we have no time for homework. By the time we get home from work, get supper then its baths and my kids are in bed at like 7 and 7:30.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could go shopping with you!!! Your pic is pretty! And...why not eat in a muffin pan. Fun idea!
ReplyDeleteTurbo keeps telling us homework is assigned randomly. I think it mostly happens when he doesn't finish his work at school this year. At least so far. We keep checking on him. We have had much more contact with his teachers via email and can make sure he doesn't have work he's not doing.
ReplyDeleteBruiser has optional homework. If we do it great, but it's not mandatory.
Figuring out what to wear for family pictures is tough. Shopping is fun though!
Okay I watched the video and it made me cry. It made me feel good, it made me feel sad... wow just wow. It does have a good message... you really don't know who you make feel good during the day. Oy!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is gorgeous! I need a change for mine...since having the baby, I find it very dry and awkward to do anything with other than just leaving it curly but it's so boring!
ReplyDeleteOh I love your hair! And that photo of Lucas driving the boat is excellent!
ReplyDeleteGeez, you're video made me weep!!! I'm happy you posted it, it'll stick in my head for sure. You're hair looks stunning long btw!
ReplyDeleteLess homework for the win! And your hair looks great!
