5 Thoughts

1.This week I delivered the gallery to the clients of my latest newborn shoot.  They loved the pictures.  I asked how they found me, as I am always curious, and it was just a straight up google search for a newborn photographer that led her to my photography site.  That made me pretty dang happy.

2. My kids love their pajamas.  They will often get home from school or church and ask if we are going anywhere, if the answer is no, they immediately change into their pajamas.

3. Ryder had a play date this week with his little girl friend. Her mom had some doctors appointments so we were watching her even into the hours when Lucas and Alex were home from school. As soon as Alex realized there was another girl in the house and another girl that had only brothers, she as in heaven, taking over Ryder's playdate.  They had a tea party, a fashion show and played with My Little Ponies.  Ryder took it all pretty well.

4. I knew it would happen, I am surprised it didn't happen sooner.  So far this year everyday I have been dressed for school drop off-- this week, nope. (see below)

5. Yesterday Ryder brought his blankie for show and tell at preschool.  I totally love that he is innocent enough to not think anything of bringing his blankie to school.  They grow up so fast.

  1. So, so cute about the playdate! When we were on vacation last month, there were two little girls with us. I took over fixing their hair for them because I never get to do that and I love braiding! Thankfully, they humored me. :)

I have been terrible about getting dressed for school drop off. This is the first year where I just have to drive the less than a mile to the school and then right back home(before, I had to drive into town, so that gave me more motivation). But I'm out the door, to the school, and back in less than 5 minutes, so I've been going in my pajamas a LOT. That was fun when the vice principal stuck her head in my van to talk to me about something yesterday. LOL

    1. Oh I wish you lived close, I would have you come fix Alex’s hair all the time! She loves having her hair done as sadly I really am not very good at it. I can do a few basics, but nothing fancy.

Yea, the day I wore my pajamas I kept thinking, watch this will be the day my car breaks down or something weird happens that I have to get out of my car :)— thankfully not the case.

  2. Always in pajamas at our house. My daughter puts on her nightgown the minute we get inside.
Love the newborn pictures. They are very cute!

  3. We aim for comfies here. Mostly because my boys tend to sleep in oversized shirts or just unders when it's hot. So sweatpants, basketball shorts and such are the go to comfies around here.
Bruiser had a special show and tell time yesterday that the class earned. He took his little stuffed beanie baby cat he calls Meowie. He claims that everyone thought she was as awesome as he does. So cute to be that sure of himself.

    1. Yes, so wonderful when they are confident like that and I just pray that they always keep that.

  4. My boys are similar in that they take their clothes off as soon as they get home. But I cannot get them to wear actual pajamas! Maybe come winter time.

    1. Lol- so are they sitting around in their underwear? We couldn't do that here since there is a girl in the mix :)

  5. I pretty much live in pjs when we have nowhere to be. Your kids know what's up! Love your piggy pjs, lol! Too cute. That is so sweet about the playdate. Alex needs a little princess time sometimes!

    1. Yes she does— I just need to find someone who wasn’t Ryder’s friend first so she isn’t stealing his friend :)

  6. I never end up being able to get dressed for school drop off. I look at those pretty momma's walking their kids in and just shake my head. That will NEVER be me!

    1. Yea, even when I am dressed that is about it, no makeup or hair- so yea I am not one of those “pretty moms” either

  7. I love your pajama pants!! That shot of the kids in their pjs cracks me up, too! :) They look pretty comfy!

Fabulous job on the newborn shoot! That's great that they liked what they saw on your site enough to hire you even without a personal recommendation. That's saying a lot about your talent!

    1. Thanks! Sadly I might have to retire them soon, they ripped in the back and well I never fixed it so the rip now goes halfway up the back of the pant.. much further and it won’t be the least be modest :)

I know, it really did make my day when I found out how they found out about my photography business, made me feel more legit :)

    1. Oh if my kids rode the bus (our school doesn’t have any except for kids that live really far away) I don’t know if I ever would ever get dressed, or even want to leave the house some days ;)
