As a photographer, it is so easy to just say, I can just take the pictures and never really get out from behind the camera. But I think every photographer should be part of a photo shoot.
Not only can you actually get good pictures with yourself in it, without having to set the timer and run and jump in, but it is good just to feel what it is like on the other end.
To feel those nerves, those moments of wondering are my kids actually smiling? I don't dare look as that is when she will snap so I won't be looking.... Does my hair look okay? Oh shoot, I think I am getting that cheesy smile.
All the thoughts that go through your head while getting your picture taken.
But if you have a good photographer, as I did with my friend Angie, (her website here) then you don't need to worry, she will take care of it. Not only did she make us look good but we all had a great time doing it. I also learned a few things along the way, little things like having the boys spread their feet apart a little more, just little hints and tips. So thank you Angie for shooting my family, even if she does shoot with a Nikon.
A few of my favorites from our photo shoot.
And the picture that is now my lock screen on my phone |
When is the last time you got family photos?
GREAT PICS!!
ReplyDeleteLove these pictures! My favorite has to be the bottom one, but they're all so good. Love the brick building as a backdrop! Little Ryder with his poses! You have such a beautiful family!
ReplyDeletehehe... I did a photo shoot on Sunday and my husband said let's shoot you in front of sheriffs... smart, right? It was kind of funny but.....
ReplyDeleteAnyway I love these photos!!
Great pictures! You have a beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteThese are really good. Your friend is a fantastic photographer! I love the last one best, too, but the one right above it is a good one of the kids - their smiles look so natural in that one. (It's so hard for me to get Lex to smile naturally in photos sometimes!)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, it's clear now that your husband's height is all in his legs. When he's sitting down, he fits in the picture so much easier! :)
Love the ones of the kids a LOT!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are beautiful and your family is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! What I learned from these photos is your husband isn't that tall except in his legs. Holy moly!
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos and your family is adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI can't get over how old Ryder looks! So crazy. All your kids look so grown up. These pics are so so good! I'm hoping to get family pics in the spring. And family snapshots as soon as Oliver comes home! :). Still wishing you lived by me...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and beautiful family! They turned out so well!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Emily! How in the world are you ever going to choose which ones to print and hang? They are all so great.
ReplyDeleteWe had our photos taken about 5 weeks ago. I actually just received our photo Christmas cards last night! Your photos turned out AMAZING. And when did your kids grow up? I mean, Ryder looks so old! ;)
