5 Thoughts
1. We got Knott's Berry Farm Passes again! We took last year off, but decided to get them again this year. I don't think we will go as many times as we did the first time we had passes (which was like 15 times I think), but the kids are excited and we already went last Friday.
2. Eric got home from work only to have Alex and Ryder beg him to be in their race. He agreed and lost the race of course (due to cheating by the kids and daddy letting them win). They then handed out ribbons they had made, Alex had a first place ribbon, Ryder got second place ribbon, and Eric.. well he got a ribbon that said "Lost" and then another that said "You did badish". Alex said, she first wrote "you did bad" but thought that was too mean, so change it to badish. Oh yes, Miss, that makes it so much better.
3. I am so excited that Downton Abbey is on again! So love that show. Oh and I may have started watching American Idol this last week. I didn't actually watch it probably the first 9 or so seasons.. and I always think I am not going to watch it, but then I do in the end.
4. Last night after Ryder's bath he began streaking around my bedroom. "Stop you streaker!" I called. "What's a 'treaker'" he asked (that darn s at the beginning of words is tricky) I told him that it was someone running around with no clothes on. After he was half-way dressed, he declared himself a "pants- streaker". I said, no that is not how it worked and besides streaking is not a good thing. To which he replied "it is if no one sees you!"
5. I started writing my book again! It had been several months since I had worked on it. My goal is to get it done sometime this summer, then send it to willing wonderful friends to edit it, then this fall start trying to get it published. There, now that I said it out-loud I will have to stick to it!

What is your Friday five this week?
Great shot of Alex on the bike! I've wanted to practice panning shots like that, but never seem to have the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteYa'll are going to have so much fun with those passes! It was good to take a year off so it's exciting all over again!
Yes, we won't be able to go nearly as often as Alex has basketball on Saturday and then will have soccer on Saturday, but maybe that will be good so we don't get so burned out :)
DeleteThe sicks have run around our house too. I'm hoping we are over the worst of it now. It's so tough to see the normally active be lumps on the couch.
ReplyDeleteYes! He is just sick enough that he definitely has to stay home from school, has a fever too— but about halfway through the day almost seems a little bored and like he should be at school. Though he did take that nap in the middle of the day yesterday. I heard that 9 kids in his class were sick yesterday.
DeleteOooh! Let me know how the book writing, editing, publishing goes. I've written one as well, but it's just sitting in the abyss of my computer. Also, I love, love the picture of your daughter on the bike. That's definitely a framer!
ReplyDeleteThe last time I went to Knott's Berry Farm, all the rides made me feel so sick! It turns out that getting older is not conducive to going upside down!
ReplyDeleteI'm SO glad Downton Abbey is back. I can't wait to find out what happens this season. And to see whether my suspicions about Bates have been right all along!
Yes, I can't do spinny rides any more but I can still handle roller coasters. Love Downton!
DeleteFun post! I should start doing this!!
ReplyDeleteWould love for you to join in!
DeleteI couldn't help but giggle about the "you did badish" prize as well as the streaker! Carson has a habit of streaking. Kids are too silly! That is wonderful that you are going to be writing your book again!! What is it about?
ReplyDeleteRealized almost two weeks later I never replied to your question— here is little blurb I have written about my book
Delete“Trisha had it all figured out, her 5 year plan: college, marriage, and starting a family. A betrayal, a broken heart, and an almost worthless college degree and she finds herself on a very different course. She takes a job with the Division of Child and Family Services and soon sees and experiences things she could never really imagine which leaves her questioning who she is and what her life is supposed to become.”
Okay love Ryder's thoughts on the whole streaker thing :). Very cute and only out of the mouthes of babes :). I forget how far you told me the Knotts Berry Farm was from your house... being nosey and comparing that to our drive to Silver Dollar City... We apparently had to explain ish to Tori this weekend... although maybe not... it was just the question she asked us. I guess she doesn't know what the ish to words means? She sure does not though :). And I still want to know what this Downton Abbey is that everyone talks about. I never find it on tv so I've never been able to watch.
ReplyDeleteKnott takes us about 40 minutes to get to on days with no traffic, can take longer but we take some of the fast track or toll roads to save time on bad traffic days. Downton Abbey is on PBS on Sunday nights. You can watch the old seasons on Netflix.
DeleteThe sickness is real this year boo! Glad to hear you are working on your book though :)
ReplyDeleteYes! It has felt great to sit down and write on it again… though now a million things have come up so I haven’t been able to write on it for a few days again
