I Spend My Day...

How do you spend your days?  Sometimes I look back on the day and wonder what in the world did I do today?  Other days, I remember all too well.

Yesterday I had to get all of my kids out of bed, darn day light savings time.

Yesterday I scrambled to find something for Ryder to eat for breakfast, since all his favorites breakfast foods were gone.  We settled on Fruit Loop, so healthy I know.

Yesterday I drove the kids to school while we listened to my new CD while Lucas sat next to me in the the passenger seat.  He is big enough now.  Did I tell you his feet are bigger than mine now?  Yes, my ten year old has bigger feet than I do and is already 5' tall.

Yesterday I put on a show for Ryder while I talked with my parents on the phone.

Yesterday when I got off the phone Ryder was laying down and said he didn't feel good.

Yesterday I took his temperature and sure enough he had a fever.

Yesterday the whole rest of my plans for the day got turned upside down and changed.

Yesterday, we saw those fruit loops again and I really regretted giving those to him.

Sometimes when you are going so fast, with so much planned, life puts a break on things and makes you slow down.

Lots of cuddles, lots of shows and lots of sleeping.

That was my day yesterday.

Sometimes I remember my day all too well.

    1. Thank you! He still has a fever but at least his stomach seems to have settled today, so so far things are better.

  2. Oh shoot - poor little guy! Hope he's feeling better today. But yes, sometimes I think getting sick is a reminder to slow down and have a break, even if you don't want to. I hope you were able to enjoy those cuddles and rest, even if it meant Ryder wasn't feeling the best.

    1. Yes, it seems like when I am getting way too caught up in other things and going a million miles a minute one of my kids get sick and it helps me remember what matters most.

  3. Aww poor Ryder...I went through this in the last month with my kids too and honestly, one of the worst "parent" jobs ever in my eyes! I hate sick kids but I will take the extra cuddles (and even the germ sharing I guess)

    1. Yes, especially when you have to clean up when they unexpectedly throw up, never fun :( The extra cuddles are good though

  4. I'm sorry you've had to deal with that, but you're right, sometimes things make you slow down and think and extra hugs and kisses are great!

  5. Except for Ryder being sick, cuddles, shows, and naps sounds like a pretty nice day! So sorry he's feeling bad. Hopefully it'll pass quickly enough.

  6. Oh poor little one. He'll get better, and sometimes slowing down is the best thing to do :-)

  7. Great post! I hope Ryder feels better soon. Dylan is 4'11" now. He's so big. I can't believe how fast he's growing up! Sometimes, as a SAHM, it doesn't feel like I accomplish much on certain days. But when I look back on the day, I realize just how much I truly did. It can be stressful and repetitive at times, but it's so worth it!
