An 11-year-olds Birthday

Before too much time gets past me, I figured it was time to recap Lucas' 11th birthday.

He had three exact things in mind for what he wanted, a Minecraft game band, a stuffed Ender dragon, and a lava lamp.  His list stayed the same for over a month.

Since he knew exactly what he wanted, we did some sneaky packing to throw him off a bit--

it worked. 

 He got the three things he wanted, along with some books.

Gone are the days of themed birthday cakes that I love making, I guess when you are 11 you are just too old for those.  The cake was a near disaster when it completely cracked while cooling.

  But enough frosting sort of saved it. 

This year he did request a Letter L and then Happy 11th Birthday, which was a step up from last year's simple cake.

He was excited and happy throughout the whole day and thankfully this year his birthday fell on a Thursday, the one weekday that we don't have a million places to run.  

I couldn't be more proud of the boy he is and the awesome young man he is becoming.
