I received a review copy of Beyond The Rising Tide by Sarah Beard.
The Book:
Kai met Avery only once--in the moment he died saving her life. Now when he's not using his new healing powers to help people, he watches helplessly as Avery's life is unraveled by his death. To help her, he risks everything by breaking the rules, dangerously blurring the barriers between life and death.
My Review:
The book quickly drew me in and I loved the author's unique view of the afterlife. The book makes you wonder how many times help might be received from the other side. The book's chapters rotate from the perspective of the two main characters, the author did a great job making each character have their own voice. The characters have great depth and don't have perfect lives but are actually rather broken, leaving you pulling and fighting for them too. There are twists and turns in the plot, some which could be predicted but others that were a refreshing surprise. This is a quick perfect summer read, I finished the book in just one day. It is a clean romance and also what I classify as a 'clean book' free from language and strong graphic or sexual imagery.
I have read the author's other book Porcelain Keys before which I absolutely loved.
Here is an trailer for the book, that really sets the mood for what the book is
