I knew I would go to college, but had ASU and other random places on my list. I don't think I thought I would always live in Illinois, but I also couldn't really picture myself living anywhere else. With some direction and guidance from my Dad, I ended up at BYU. I loved my freshmen year, it was filled with new adventures, new friends and so much fun. I returned home for the summer, excited to see my family and friends, yet really with my heart still back at school.
I often think of some of the different choices I made in high school and right after and sometimes wonder how completely different my life would be if I made just a few different decisions.
One lesson I have learned over the years though, is I really seem to end up right where I am supposed to be.
Including my sophomore year of college, when this really tall guy with blonde hair lived in an apartment across the way.

Fast forward to today, 4 States, 8 homes and 15 years later and I know I am in the right place, with the right person.
Fifteen years ago today I kneeled across the alter in the Chicago Temple and said yes, I did want to spend eternity with the man I love.
Today, to my husband I say thank you. Thank you for loving me, thank you for supporting me, encouraging me and forgiving me when it has been needed. Thank you for working so hard and for not giving up on yourself and who you truly are. Thank you for being my best friend.
Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary!
Happy anniversary! I often think, too, about how different things could have turned out in my life had I made other choices. It's fun to think about, but at the end of the day, I don't think I'd change a thing. At least not the important stuff anyway. I might go back and not use tanning beds...ha!
ReplyDeleteIt is true! Even some of the choices along the way that could be seen as "mistakes" in my life, really have led to who I am today, so I wouldn't change it

ReplyDeleteIt's wild to think that little choices led us to the lives we live.
